Two German keyboardists lead this band: Michael Holm had a long string of Top Ten vocal records in Germany during the '60s and '70s; Kristian Schultze is one of Europe's busiest studio musicians. They share an interest in South America's prehistoric musical heritage, yet their albums are far from traditional. Cusco combines catchy melodies and steady rock/funk beats with just enough ethnic percussion and electronically generated panpipe sounds to give a South American flavor. ~ Linda Kohanov
