Artist bios

Known as one of the most prolific composers in the Spanish rock scene, singer/songwriter ¸é²¹³¾´Ç²Ô³¦Ã­²Ô (born José Ramón Julio Martínez Márquez) began writing poems while attending acting classes. He debuted live in 1973 at a local club called Long Play, singing Bob Dylan's "Blowing in the Wind" and Don McLean's "American Pie"; he formed his own band in 1975. After signing with EMI-Odeón, his debut album, ¸é²¹³¾´Ç²Ô³¦Ã­²Ô y WC, was released in 1978. ¸é²¹³¾´Ç²Ô³¦Ã­²Ô received awards for Best Composer and Best Performer that same year. In 1979, his book, Animal de Ojos Caidos, was published, and he played a star role in the movie Adolescencia in 1981. ¸é²¹³¾´Ç²Ô³¦Ã­²Ô's first compilation of greatest hits, Colección Privada, was released by EMI-Odeón in 1992. He later participated in an Elvis Presley tribute album called Tributo Al Rey, covering "Little Sister." He issued Angel de Cuero: 20 Años de Canciones on November 6, 2000, to celebrate his 20th career anniversary. ~ Drago Bonacich
