Nio Garcia is a Latin dancer, choreographer-turned-rapper, film actor, and a reggaeton pioneer, evidenced by his charting singles "Infinitely" and "Soy Yo." 2018's global smash "Te Boté" (feat. Nicky Jam, Ozuna, and Bad Bunny) peaked at two on the Latin Pop chart. Its 2019 remix, adding Casper and Darrell to the crew, registered over two billion views. In 2020 he released his debut album, Now or Never, in collaboration with Casper Magico; it spent seven weeks in the Top 200; he teamed with Flow La Movie for 2021's "A.M." and "Sin Panty," and Manuel Turizo for "Resaca." A remix of "A.M." with J Balvin and Bad Bunny spent ten weeks on the Hot 100. He hit the charts twice in April 2022 with "Baila Vien" (feat. VF7), and "Nadie" with Miky Woodz and Jay Wheeler. He released 13 singles in 2023. In July 2024, he released the hit "Mela" (feat. Blessd and SOG.)
Garcia was born Luis Antonio Quinones Garcia in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Though he had been dancing most of his life, it had become an obsession by the time he was 15, so he pursued it professionally. Through his own work, he was already plugged into San Juan's thriving urban music scene, and he began creating choreography for a slew of artists. Within the year, he was touring internationally as both a dancer and choreographer. As a college student, he starred in the 2013 film Reggaeton: The Movie and was already refocusing his talent by picking up the mike to add another dimension to his performances. His initial demos drew the attention of Flow Music label boss and entrepreneur DJ Nelson, who signed the young artist and became his first producer.
Garcia's debut single, "Infinitamente," was released in the summer of 2015, followed by its video that racked up over 250,000 views. In August of the following year, he issued "Borracho y Loco" both as a single and video, which doubled his views on YouTube. That December, he hit the charts for the first time with a remix of "Borracho y Loco" featuring Bryant Myers and Randy, which hit even higher in the Latin urban charts. It was the first of seven charting singles. Garcia spent most of 2017 touring but managed to issue five singles, including "Mi Mujer" and "Loba." He also worked with a number of other artists, including Franco El Gorila, Ozuna, Lito Kirino, Anuel AA, and Darkiel.
2018 proved to be Garcia's breakthrough year. His April single, a remix of "Te Boté" featuring Bad Bunny and Casper Magico, charted all over the globe at streaming, while his videos garnered millions of views. Depending on his location, he managed to land in the Top Five at home and at number two in the Dominican Republic, while placing in the Top 200 in the United States. Garcia took the success of "Te Boté" as license to flood the market. He issued no less than two-dozen singles and/or videos in 2019, including the best-selling remix of "Te Boté." "Mírame" (remix featuring Myke Towers, Casper Mágico, & Darell) and "Llamé pa' Verte" (featuring Ana Mena & Emilia) also ran up video and streaming charts.
In 2020, Garcia kept up his feverish pace. Beginning with "Me Ignora" in February, he released a dozen singles during the year's first half, including the dancefloor and streaming smash "La Jeepeta" (featuring Brray and Juanka), followed by its remix in July, which added Towers and Anuel AA to the crew of the original single. It topped streaming and radio charts a week after its release. In July, Garcia and Mágico issued the long-playing duo outing Now or Never. The 18-track set included solo singles by each of its creators as well as club-banging remixes of "Mírame," "Te Boté," and "La Jeepeta" (the latter a viral hit on TikTok). In addition to the older material, newer songs such as "La Nota" (featuring Yandel), and "Farandula" (featuring Jowell & Randy) registered as standouts.
His output remained prodigious heading into 2021 and featured a pair of Billboard-charting Flow La Movie collaborations in "AM" and "Sin Panty," the latter also included Farruko. A second single, "Resaca," featured Manuel Turizo as a collaborator. He kicked off 2022 as a collaborator, joining Omy de Oro and Jay Wheeler on the charting "Mood." 13 singles followed in 2023 including "Twerk," "Rolls-Royce," and "Cumbia." In February 2024, Garcia started the year out with "Amor con Rabia" feat. Juhn. Migrantes and DeMasters joined the rapper on "Pa' LA Discoteca" in April. In July, Garcia issued the charting "Mela" with assistance from Blessd and SOG. ~ Thom Jurek
Casper Magico is a Puerto Rican singer and rapper, and a popular exponent of reggaeton's Trap Latino movement. A protégé of Anuel AA -- with whom he sang for a time -- he gained immediate attention in February 2017 with the single "No Me Hables de Amor" featuring Anuel AA. Its video racked up more than two million views. (Magico returned the favor and became his public spokesperson while he was incarcerated, and Anuel AA offered Magico recording advice via letters from jail.) The track also placed in the Top Ten on the Latin charts of various streaming services. The single "Te Perdí" (featuring Kendo Kaponi) was issued around the same time, but didn't do nearly as well. The June follow-up, "Cuentale" (also with Anuel AA), rectified that and took him back up the charts.
Magico's biographical details are deliberately shrouded in mystery. His given name is Julio Cruz García, and he grew up running the streets before finding salvation in music. After his breakthrough single, Magico began posting virtually every track he recorded to YouTube, and never scored less than 140,000 views. His hit single "Por Dinero" appeared in March, followed by a remix with Kendo Kaponi, Miky Woodz, and Noriel. In December, his "Te Boté" collaboration with Nio Garcia and Darell inspired a pair of remixes in the new year: the Te Bote: Electrónica Remixes EP and a proper remix single that included collaborators Bad Bunny, Nicky Jam, and Ozuna. The latter was a smash. It stormed the Latin urban and pop charts while its video racked up 300,000 views during its first three weeks. The track ultimately reached number one on the charts in 11 countries and well inside the Top 40 in the U.S.
In May 2018, Magico was a noted collaborator on the remix of Darell's single "Blanco Yo Negro," alongside Ele a el Dominio, Jamby el Favo, John Jay, and producer Sinfonico. That same month, his "Te Boté" remix topped the Hot Latin Songs chart. Though Magico issued another half-dozen singles that year, none approached the success of "Te Boté (Remix)." 2019 proved different. His "No Te Veo (Remix)" with Anuel AA reached the Top 30 in Spain and the Top 40 in the Dominican Republic while placing inside the Hot 100 in the U.S. "Mírame" (remix featuring Garcia, Rauw Alejandro, Lenny Tavárez, Myke Towers, Darell) landed inside the Top 20 in 15 countries. "La Jeepeta" (featuring Anuel AA, Myke Towers, Brray, and Juanka), went to number four.
All three tunes, as well as the "Te Boté" remix, ended up on Now or Never, the collaborative debut album by Garcia and Magico in late July. The set's 18 tracks included guest appearances from Arcángel and De La Ghetto on "No Se Te Dio," Jowell & Randy on "Farandula," and Darell on "Llame Pa Verte," among others. The record entered the Top Latin Albums chart at number five in early August, number four the Latin Rhythm Albums list, and at 136 on the Top 200. Immediately following, the pair and Flow La Movie issued "Travesuras." The single spent more than 20 weeks on the Top Latin Songs Chart, peaking at nine, and it topped the Tropical Airplay list. In February 2021, Magico and Flow La Movie issued "Mi Favorita." The following month, a star-studded remix of "Travesuras" registered more than 200 million digital streams. Across 2021, Magico either released, collaborated on, or was a featured guest on a new single every month of the year.
That said, following the December issue of single "Karma" (featuring Flow La Movie and Bryant Myers), Magico went silent for six months. He returned with "De Rumba" in June; its video registered more than 200 million views. In October, he issued the single "La Mini" with collaborator Young Miko. ~ Thom Jurek
Bad Bunny is a prolific Puerto Rican singer, rapper, and producer based in San Juan who has become a dominant voice in Latin trap and a general trendsetter for música urbana. In addition to placing dozens of singles on charts ranging from Latin pop and reggaeton to dance and hip-hop lists, he has also notched a succession of chart-topping albums including his 2018 debut x100pre and a pair of 2020 albums, YHLQMDLG and El Último Tour Del Mundo. Bad Bunny's sweeping commercial appeal lies in his chameleon-like approach, melding Latin soul, pop, and R&B, hard-hitting trap beats, and reggaeton with a slippery delivery that ranges from humor and pathos to heartbreak and anger. He is also one of the top collaborators in the música urbana movement, working regularly with contemporaries like J Balvin, Daddy Yankee, Rosalía, and Jhay Cortez. After releasing 2022's Grammy-winning Un Verano Sin Ti, Bad Bunny notched his fifth consecutive number one album with 2023's Nadie Sabe Lo Que Va a Pasar Mañana.
Born Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio in 1994, he began singing at five and always took it seriously. His biggest influences were Héctor Lavoe, Vico C, Daddy Yankee, and Marc Anthony. He studied audiovisual communication at the University of Puerto Rico at Arecibo and worked as a bagger at a grocery store while making his own music by night and posting it to SoundCloud. In particular, Bad Bunny's song "Diles" caught the ear of DJ Luian, who signed him to his Hear This Music label in 2016. His breakthrough single, "Soy Peor," issued in December of 2016, peaked at 22 on the Hot Latin Songs chart, and established his trap-heavy sound with the masses. Its video rang up more than 650 million views. Appearances with Ñengo Flow, Arcangel, and Ozuna soon followed, and in early 2017 he kicked off an especially prolific run with the singles "Pa Ti," "Loco Pero Millonario," and "Dime Si Vas a Volver," amid numerous collaborative tracks with Poeta Callejero, Farruko, Brytiago, Almighty, and others. In late 2017, Bunny, J Balvin, and Prince Royce scored a hit with the collaboration "Sensualidad." The singles kept coming in 2018 as he notched another Latin hit with the solo track "Amorfoda" and collaborated again with J Balvin and American rapper Cardi B on her single "I Like It," which topped Billboard's Hot 100 in the summer of that year. On Noche Buena (Christmas Eve) of 2018, the most important day in the LatinX year, Bad Bunny issued his debut long-player, x100pre, to universal acclaim. The set was co-produced by reggaeton legend Tainy and La Paciencia (Roberto Rosado), with the exception of the club jam "200 MPH," which was helmed by Diplo. Its songs ranged from the pop-punk of "Tenemos Que Hablar" to reggaeton ballads including "Solo de Mí" and "Si Estuviésemos Juntos" to tense hip-hop on "Caro." It entered the Top Latin Albums chart at number one in early 2019, and in January peaked at number 12 on the Top 200.
In June, Oasis, the long-teased full-length collaboration between Bad Bunny and J Balvin, arrived. Utilizing a cast of producers who included Sky, Tainy, Legendury Beatz, Marciano Cantero, and Nicael Arroyo, the album peaked at number nine on the Top 200. At that year's Latin Grammys, Bad Bunny took home the award for x100pre as Best Urban Album. He surprised fans once more with the unexpected release of his sophomore full-length YHLQMDLG ("Yo hago lo que me da la gana": "I do whatever I want") at the end of February in 2020. Alternately produced by Subelo NEO and Tainy, the set featured collaborations with Daddy Yankee, Yaviah, Ñengo Flow, Anuel AA, and Jowell y Randy. It entered the Top 200 at number two, becoming the debut appearance of an album by a Latin artist. It also hit the top spot at Top Latin Albums. Issued on cassette and digitally, the first pressing of the former sold out in two days. Later that year Bunny issued his first compilation, Las Que No Iban a Salir. Comprised of unreleased tracks from the x100pre and YHLQMDLG sessions, as well as new cuts including the single "En Casita," the collection included appearances by Zion & Lennox, Yandel, Don Omar, Nicky Jam, and Jhay Cortez.
On Black Friday, Bad Bunny continued his habit of issuing albums without prior announcement. El Último Tour del Mundo, with its garish, semi-truck cover photo, offered a side of the urbano we hadn't seen before. In addition to trap and reggaeton, Bunny's songs acknowledged his love of indie rock with production and musical nods to the Cure, Radiohead, and the Police. The Tainy-produced "La Noche de Anoche," featuring Rosalía, was, uncharacteristically, one of only three collaborations on the album. The others included "Sorry Papi" (featuring Abra, it was also produced by Tainy) and "Dákiti," featuring Jhay Cortez. Two weeks after its release, the Grammy-nominated set peaked in the number one spot on the Top 200. Through 2021, Bunny issued a string of singles, including high-charting remixes of Mora's "Volando" and Nio Garcia's "AM," a collaboration with the long-retired Aventura ("Volví"), and the heartbreak hit "Yonaguni," which peaked at number three on the Top 200. His next full-length came with 2022's Un Verano Sin Ti, a sprawling 23-track set focused on the titular theme of summer. The album, influenced by Caribbean and South American rhythms, offered slices of reggaeton, pop, and trap, as well as unlikely collaborations with the likes of the Marías, Bomba Estéreo, and Tony Dize. Headed up by the sexually charged "Moscow Mule," it debuted at number one on the Billboard albums chart and went on to win the Grammy Award for Best Musica Urbana Album. In May 2023, he hit the top 10 of the Hot 100 and Hot Latin Songs charts with "Where She Goes." He also joined Travis Scott and the Weeknd on the song "K-Pop," then kicked off his next album cycle with "Un Preview." Like Bunny's previous set, Nadie Sabe Lo Que Va a Pasar Mañana was lengthy and diverse, with 22 tracks that wound through Latin trap, Jersey club, drill, and points in between. It yielded the charting hit "Monaco" and the album itself topped Billboard's pop and Latin charts. In April 2024, he and Myke Towers released "Adivino," which he followed later that year with solo singles, "Una Velita," "El Clúb," and "Pitorro de Coco." In January 2025, he returned to Puerto Rico on sixth studio album Debí Tirar Más Fotos, a cosmopolitan set that celebrated his homeland's culture and warned against its exploitation. ~ Timothy Monger
Darell (aka Castro) is a charting Puerto Rican rapper, singer, and songwriter in the genres of reggaeton and Latin trap. He is regarded as one of the best urban rappers and singers, and penned the chart-topping collaborative single "Te Boté," with remixes featuring Casper Magico, Nio Garcia, Nicky Jam, Bad Bunny, and Ozuna. The song was a massive hit in 2018, garnering notice across North America and the Caribbean, and set the table for future hits like 2019's "Velitas" with Brytiago and the 2020 El Alfa and Noriel collaboration "4K." After releasing his debut album, LVV: The Real Rondon, Darell continued to rack up streams with songs like 2021's "Elma Maria" with Maffio and Don Miguelo, 2022's "Instagram (Remix)" with Blessd and De La Ghetto, and 2023's "Adentro de la Disco" featuring Myke Towers, the latter of which was included on 2023's Everybody Go to the Discotek. He returned the following year with Darell 2024.
Darell was born in 1990 and raised in Puerto Rico. His personal life before he became an artist is mired in myth and intrigue about which little is known. He hit the scene in 2010 as half of the duo Belto & Darell. Their singles, including "Hate La Maldad," "Si Te Dicen," and "Sateo" (with Nicky Jam), were resounding successes in the underground clubs of San Juan and Miami. Darell went solo in 2011.
He was properly discovered by Nengo Flow's label Real G4 Life after Nengo called him an artist to watch. They put him together with producers such as Lil Geniuz, Onyx, and Symphonic, and all assisted in developing the lyrics he wrote into finished songs. During this period, he also appeared as a featured guest on others' recordings, scoring his first hit with "Ninguno Se Monta" (feat. Tempo, Anuel AA, and Nengo Flow). The video single racked up 11 million views out of the box and helped establish his reputation with other artists. Darell then released his successful debut mixtape, La Verdadera Vuelta, which mixed trap and reggaeton. Its singles, including "La Brega," "Blanco," "No Me Hablen de Calle," and "No Le Dices Na" ran up the LatinX urban streaming charts and were DJ staples in clubs, while its videos garnered tens of millions of views. In addition to his own recordings, Darell collaborated with artists such as Tempo, Anuel AA, and Farruko, among others. In 2016, he participated in the remix of "Ella y Yo" with Farruko, Ozuna, Kevin Roldan, Ñengo Flow, Anuel AA, and Pepe Quintana. He also participated in the remix of "Punto G" that landed at Hot Latin Songs and Latin Rhythm Airplay. When his original single of "Te Bote" was issued, the song did well at streaming but didn't have a proper chart run until its collaborative remix was promoted by DJs in clubs, as it was too risqué for terrestrial radio. The remix helped it blow up, and the track conquered the urban dance scene and earned a spot well inside the Hot 100's Top 40.
Over the next 12 months, Darell pushed out a handful of charting singles and videos including "Jeugo," "Funeral" (feat. Ro Millones), "Quiero Hablate" (feat. Bryant Myers), "Tu Peor Error," and the Kelmitt x Darell hit "No Me Vuelvo a Enamorar." Darell remained prolific throughout 2019, with charting tracks like "Caliente" (feat. Farruko), "Velitas" with Brytiago, and "No Vuelvas Más." He also guested on Sech's smash hit "Otro Trago"
In 2020, Darell delivered his debut album, LVV: The Real Rondon. It hit number 48 on Billboard's Top Latin Albums chart and yielded a crop of streaming hits including "Como Me Ven" featuring Pablo Chill-E, "Billetes de 100" with Gerardo Ortiz, and "Booty Call" with KEVVO. That same year, he collaborated with El Alfa and Noriel on the hit "4K."
Over the next couple of years, Darell kept up a seemingly endless barrage of singles and collaborations, many of which were big streaming hits. They include songs like 2021's "Pakata" with El Alfa and "Elma Maria" with Maffio and Don Miguelo, the 2022 solo track "Mi Peor Error," and later that year the massive hit "Instagram (Remix)" with Blessd and De La Ghetto. 2023 brought "Me Dice Daddy" with Omar Courtz and "Adentro de la Disco" featuring Myke Towers. Both songs were included on his 2023 full-length, Everybody Go to the Discotek. In September 2024, he returned with the album Darell 2024, which featured guest appearances by the Rudeboyz, Clean Bandit, Lil Geniuz, and others. ~ Thom Jurek
One of the most prolific artists in reggaeton and Latin trap, Nicky Jam is a charting, award-winning singer and songwriter who has collaborated with a long list of performers, including superstars such as Daddy Yankee, Farruko, J Balvin, and dozens of others. In addition, his solo material includes the popular albums Vida Escante (2004) and The Black Carpet (2007) as well as its accompanying self-released The Black Mixtape (2009). His single "Hasta el Amanecer," issued in early 2016, contained the singer's trademark catchy, romantic, melodic hooks, and its music video has been viewed over a billion times. His 2017 hit album, Fénix, was nominated for a Latin Grammy Award for Album of the Year, while 2019's Íntimo went platinum in three countries. Jam returned in 2021 with the full-length Infinity and continued to occupy the charts with singles like "Sin Novia" (2022) and "Toy a Mil" (2023).
Born Nick Rivera Caminero on March 17, 1981, in Boston, Massachusetts, Jam moved with his family to Barrio Obrero, Puerto Rico at age ten. His father is Puerto Rican and his mother is Dominican. Like many of his generation, Jam initially got into the reggaeton scene during the '90s and made a name for himself on the mixtape circuit. Most notably, he can be heard on some of the seminal mixtapes helmed by DJ Playero around the turn of the century. Early solo albums such as Haciendo Escante (2001), featuring fellow DJ Playero protégé Daddy Yankee on the title track, established him as a rising star in the reggaeton scene, but it wasn't until Vida Escante (2004) that he broke through to a mainstream audience, particularly once the album was re-released with bonus material in 2005. His follow-up, The Black Carpet (2007), proved similarly popular, spawning one of his biggest hits, "Gas Pela" featuring RKM.
Despite Jam's success, he felt he could do more, and decided to move to Colombia in 2010. It provided to be just the career rejuvenation he needed, resulting in a parade of underground hits including "Tu Primera Vez," "Curiosidad," and "Voy a Beber." By 2014 he was charting consistently again, first with the single "Travesuras" and then in early 2015 with "Si Tu No Estas." Both songs appeared on Greatest Hits, Vol. 1. In the spring of 2015, his duet with Enrique Iglesias on "El Perdón" became his first single to hit number one on the Latin charts, and crossed over to the pop charts. After winning accolades at the 2015 Latin American Music Awards and Latin Grammy Awards, as well as the 2016 Lo Nuestro Awards, Jam worked on his first studio album since 2007. That effort, the multi-platinum Fénix, arrived on Sony Music in 2017. Featuring appearances by Sean Paul, J Balvin, Wisin, Daddy Yankee, Arcangel, Enrique Iglesias, and more, the record hit the Top 30 of the Billboard 200 and topped the Latin Albums chart, Jam's first appearance on the list.
The single "X," featuring J Balvin, appeared in 2018, with a remix featuring Maluma and Ozuna following soon after. Jam continued to release stand-alone tracks throughout the year, including "Satisfaccion" with Bad Bunny and Arcangel, "Good Vibes" with Fuego, and "Jaleo" with Steve Aoki. At the end of the year, he issued the charting "Te Robaré" (featuring Ozuna). He also appeared as a featured collaborator on various singles and album tracks including Ozuna's "Haciéndolo," Ginza's remix of J Balvin's "Bruuttal," and Loud Luxury's "Body on My" with Brando and Pitbull.
2019 held no respite for Jam as he collaborated on a slew of tracks including Shaggy's "Body Good," Alejandro Sanz's "Back in the City," and the remix of Karol G's "Mi Cama." He also issued a handful of digital singles across the Caribbean and Latin America including "Mona Lisa" (featuring Nacho), "Atrévete" (featuring Sech), and "El Favor" (with Dimelo Flow and Farruko, featuring Sech, Zion, and Lunay). Jam also spent time filming the movie Bad Boys for Life, starring Will Smith and Martin Lawrence, and touring to generate interest for his upcoming sixth studio album, Intimo. In late October, a week before the set's release, he released a documentary trailer titled Behind Nicky Jam's Intimo. It gave viewers an inside look at his battle with drugs, almost losing his career, and his journey toward sobriety. Intimo arrived in November 2019 and entered the Latin Albums chart at number three. A single, "Muévelo," featuring Jam and Daddy Yankee, appeared in January 2020 as part of the Bad Boys for Life soundtrack and topped the Billboard Latin Airplay chart. Later that year, he released the platinum-selling single "Polvo" (featuring Myke Towers), with "Fan de Tus Fotos" (featuring Romeo Santos) arriving in 2021. Along with the Jhay Cortez collaboration "Magnum," both songs appeared on Jam's sixth album, Infinity, that August. A pair of stand-alone singles, “Ojos Rojos” and the Prince Royce- and Jay Wheeler-assisted “Si Te Preguntan...,” appeared in 2022, with “Toy a Mil” and "69" arriving in 2023. He also paired with Trueno for 2024's "Cangrinaje." ~ Jason Birchmeier & James Christopher Monger
Juan Carlos Ozuna Rosado, professionally known as Ozuna, is a record-setting, award-winning reggaeton singer and songwriter from Puerto Rico. He writes positive, uplifting songs that encourage people to work toward their dreams while avoiding the use of profanity out of respect for his daughter. He made his breakthrough in 2016 with the single "La Ocasión," which peaked in the Top 30 of the Hot Latin Songs chart, and he continued with a string of high-profile collaborations before issuing his debut, Odisea, in 2017. The album topped the charts, a feat Ozuna repeated with 2019's urbano-leaning Nibiru, 2020's Enoc, and the following year's Los Dioses, his third collaborative album with Anuel AA. In 2022, the artist released OzuTochi, followed by the surprise release of Cosmo in late 2023. A 2024 single, "Guay," with Bad Gyal was a hit in Spain.
A songwriter since the age of 12, Ozuna grew up in Puerto Rico, later spending time in New York City before his career took off. In 2014, he signed a record contract and began posting singles online. By 2015, songs such as "Si Tu Marido No Te Quiere" had become radio hits across Latin America, and he'd performed concerts in numerous countries. In early 2016, he joined DJ Luian, Mambo Kingz, De la Ghetto, Arcángel, and Anuel AA on the track "La Ocasión," which kicked off a modest chart run for the nascent artist. Months later, he released a remix of his song "No Quiere Enamorarse," which featured superstar Daddy Yankee. The track racked up millions of streaming views. He followed it with "Dile Que Tu Me Quieres," "Si Tu Marido No Te Quiere [Remix]," and "En la Intimidad," all of which charted in the Top 30.
In 2017, Ozuna delivered his full-length debut album, Odisea, which featured guest appearances by De la Ghetto, Anuel AA, J Balvin, and others. Included on the record were the singles "Tell Him That You Love Him," "Your Photo," and "A Flower." In September, the album debuted at number one on the Top Latin Albums chart. He also contributed to a handful of collaborations with Daddy Yankee, Wisin, J Balvin, Chris Jeday, and others. One of the most high-profile duets was 2018's "La Modelo" with American rapper Cardi B, which marked Ozuna's first entry on the Hot 100. His sophomore effort, Aura, arrived later that year and peaked in the Top Ten on the Billboard 200, again debuting at number one on the Latin Albums chart. According to the Guinness Book of World Records, the multi-platinum Puerto Rican-Dominican singer held four world records by the age of 27: He attained one for most videos to reach one billion views on YouTube, another for being the solo artist with the longest reign at number one on the Top Latin Albums chart for his debut Odisea. In addition, he broke the record for most Billboard Latin Music Award nominations, with 23 across 15 categories; he also holds the record for most wins by a single artist with 11.
In 2019, Ozuna delivered more than a handful of charting singles including "Baila Baila Baila" (plus two hit remixes), "Amor Genuino," "Vacía Sin Mí" with Darell, "Yo x Ti, Tu x Mi" with Rosalia, "Muito Calor" with Brazilian singer Anitta, and "Hasta Que Salga el Sol." In late November, he released this third long-player, the 18-track Nibiru. Named for a pseudoscientific planet, the set included 18 tracks; it became his third straight number one debut on the Latin Albums chart. Ozuna referred to the outing as an urbano rather than reggaeton album. In addition to some of the singles, it included a series of collaborations with Diddy and DJ Snake ("Eres Top"), Snoop Dogg and Anuel AA ("Patek"), Dalex and Nicky Jam ("Reggaeton in Paris"), Swae Lee ("Sin Pensar"), and Sech ("Yo Tengo Una Gata"). Ozuna released one more single from that album in April 2020, "Temporal" with Willy Rodriguez (of Cultura Profética), and guested in the Black Eyed Peas single "Mamacita" along with J. Rey Soul (on the group's album Translation). A couple months later, he issued the summery single "Caramelo."
In September 2020, Ozuna issued Enoc, his fourth album. In addition to "Carmelo," it included the advance charting singles "Del Mar" (featuring Sia and Doja Cat) and "Una Locura" (featuring J Balvin and Chencho Corleone). Among its 20 tracks were guest appearances by Cosculluela, Myke Towers, Wisin, Arcángel, and Juanka, on steamy opener "Enigma Occultos." Zion & Lennox joined Ozuna on "Que Tu Esperas," and Towers and Karol G both guested on the remix of "Carmelo." The release debuted in the number one spot at Top Latin Albums and topped numerous streaming charts. In January 2021, Anuel AA and Ozuna issued their third collaborative long-player, Los Dioses. The 12-track set was their first to enter the Latin Albums and Latin streaming charts at number one.
Later that year, Ozuna released the bachata single "Señor Juez," followed in 2022 by tracks like "Deprimida" and "G Wagon. His fifth full-length, OzuTochi, appeared in October. The diverse 18-track set traced Ozuna's roots through the musical styles of Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic while traveling across styles as diverse as dembow ("Perreo y Dembow"), techno-fueled merengue ("Un Lio"), baile funk ("Cielos Rosado"), rock ("La Copa") EDM, and of course, his trademark reggaeton romantico ("Vida," "Manana," and "Favorita"). His collaborators included Arcangel, Chencho Corleone, Feid, J Balvin, and Danny Ocean, among others. Upon release, the record entered the Top Latin Albums chart at number five.
2023 saw Ozuna experimenting with Afrobeats on the seven-song EP Afro and in November, he announced the imminent release of his long-player Cosmo. Appearing a week later, the diverse, 15-track set included collaborations with Chencho Corleone, Sky Rompiendo, Maldy, De la Ghetto, Anuel AA, Chris Jedi, David Guetta, Jhayco, Lito MC Cassidy, and many more. In 2024 Ozuna teamed up with Spanish singer Bad Gyal, hitting Spain's Top Ten with "Guay." ~ Paul Simpson & Neil Z. Yeung
