Artist bios

Steffany Gretzinger has worked primarily as a worship leader, but her powerful singing and praise & worship songwriting have been featured on several Bethel Music songs and albums. She made her solo debut in 2014 with The Undoing, an intimate set of worship songs with stripped-down arrangements that reached the Top 20 of the Billboard 200. Gretzinger continued to top the Christian Albums chart on subsequent efforts Blackout and Forever Amen. She paid tribute to her pastor father on 2021's Faith of My Father, and issued her fifth full-length effort, The Narrow Way, in 2023.

Bethel Music isn't a group per se, but a Christian praise & worship collective centered around Bethel Church in Redding, California, and the ministry of Bill Johnson. Part church, part publishing house, and part label, it's been home to singers, groups, musicians, and songwriters like Gretzinger, Brian & Jenn Johnson, Jeremy Riddle, and many others. Their collections of musical praise & worship gatherings have included 2012's The Loft Sessions, which was recorded live in a refurbished loft over several nights of worship sessions, and 2013's Tides. Gretzinger was heavily involved with both.

She released her first solo album, The Undoing, in 2014, and it peaked at number 20 on the Billboard 200. Gretzinger returned with the solo effort Blackout in 2018 and landed on the chart again, reaching number 36. Her third album, 2020's Forever Amen, became her third straight album to go to number two on Billboard's Top Christian Albums chart. 2021's Faith of My Father, a tribute to her late pastor father, saw Gretzinger deliver a moving set of worship songs she used to sing as a child. 2023 saw the release of her honest and thoughtful fifth long-player, The Narrow Way, inspired by intimate conversations with her family and friends. ~ Steve Leggett
