Artist bios

California rapper 310babii celebrates sex, spontaneity, and hedonistic fun. His breakthrough hit "Soak City (Do It)" was created quickly and released independently, but had enough infectious appeal to go viral, with streaming numbers in the tens of millions on multiple platforms. From there, 310babii began working with more established artists, expanding his single for the 2023 EP Lottery Pick, and collaborating with Luh Tyler on the track "Walk." Full-length debut Nights and Weekends arrived in 2024, and the rapper continued issuing singles such as "Pink Whitney."

310babii was born and raised in Inglewood, California, and was making his first original songs by early adolescence. When he was 17, he recorded "Soak City (Do It)" on his phone, freestyling the lyrics for the most part. An internet dance challenge quickly formed around the song, reaching celebrities and professional athletes within a few months of the track's independent release in June of 2023. The fast attention motivated 310babii to quickly collect songs for an EP-length project, Lottery Pick. By September of 2023, a remix of "Soak City (Do It)" was released featuring Blueface, OhGeesy, and BlueBucksClan. Now an established presence from his viral hit, 310babii rounded out the year with a few new songs, including the Luh Tyler-assisted "Walk." His debut full-length, Nights and Weekends, appeared in 2024, and 310babii was featured on Tyga's "Uh Huh." He also released the singles "Rock Your Hips" (with OhGeesy and BlueBucksClan) and "Pink Whitney." ~ TiVo Staff

L.A. rapper Blueface made a snap decision to abandon his dreams of playing football and in under a year went from barely contemplating music-making to being one of the more buzzed-about rappers in the game. Taking the name Blueface to represent both an association with the Crips and the "blue" $100 bill, the face-tatted rapper broke out in 2018 with several releases that highlighted his asymmetrical flow and cleverly surreal lyrical style. Following several charting hits, Blueface signed with Cash Money Records, and in 2020 released his long-labored first studio album, Find the Beat. The next two years saw him issue a string of singles, including 2022's "Tik Tok."

Blueface was born Jonathan Porter in 1997, growing up in Los Angeles and moving around the area a lot before attending college at North Carolina's Fayetteville State University on a football scholarship. After dropping out of college, Porter found himself back in L.A., hanging out with his friend TC4800 for a studio session. He randomly took the mike, rapping for the first time in his life. He developed a polarizing style that incorporated lines that wandered in and out of meter as well as provocative, ear-catching lyrics heavy on slang and clever imagery. His first track to break through on a bigger level was "DeadLocs" in early 2018. He followed the viral track with the even more successful "Thotiana" a few weeks later. He began doing tours of high schools and meeting fans at area malls. This grassroots promotion helped him build a devoted fan base and he quickly issued new music to keep them interested. The Famous Cryp mixtape, an EP entitled Two Coccy, and a collaborative mixtape with Trendd called We Over Famous all showed up before the end of 2018. Later in the year, Blueface signed with long-running rap superpower Cash Money Records.

He began 2019 with the new single "Bleed It." A handful of additional singles followed, including the Rich the Kid collaboration "Daddy," which was featured on his Dirt Bag EP later that year. A long-labored debut studio album was first announced in October 2019, with a release date for December of that year. After being pushed back multiple times, Find the Beat finally arrived in March 2020. The record featured guest appearances from a large cast of big-name rappers, including verses from Gunna, NLE Choppa, DaBaby, and many others. The album broke through to the Top 100 of the Billboard charts, peaking at number 64. Following the release of Find the Beat, Blueface issued an expanded version of Famous Cryp in 2020, including new material and new features from Asian Doll, Sada Baby, and others. In 2021, he released several new songs of his own, as well as appearing on tracks with OG Bobby Billions, DDG, and Cheddarboy. In 2022, he issued the singles "Street Signs," "Self Made," and "Tik Tok." ~ Fred Thomas

Tyga's self-assured rhymes, natural charisma, and knack for appealing to both the underground and mainstream -- traits he displays with minimum obvious effort -- have translated to platinum success spanning multiple decades. The rapper quickly moved from independent hustling to major-label superstardom. Self-funded mixtapes and a featured role on Chris Brown's Grammy-nominated "Deuces" laid the foundation for his first Top Ten solo pop hit, 2011's prowling "Rack City," leading to consecutive Top Ten albums with 2012's platinum Careless World: Rise of the Last King, 2013's Hotel California, and 2015's Fan of a Fan: The Album, the last of which he recorded with Brown. On the strength of the 2018 Offset collaboration "Taste," another Top Ten crossover hit, Tyga scored a second platinum full-length with 2019's Legendary. The Southern California native collected additional RIAA certifications with featured roles on tracks by the likes of Pia Mia, YG, and Blxst before teaming again with YG for Hit Me When U Leave the Klub: The Playlist, a largely celebratory, if low-slung, set issued in 2023. Singles such as "Sensei" followed in 2024.

Born in Compton and raised in South Central Los Angeles until he moved with his family to Gardena -- just before his teens -- Tyga (Michael Ray Stevenson) began rapping in the early 2000s. Tyga (which stands for Thank You God Always) produced multiple mixtapes that showcased his swagger-heavy style. After recording a mixtape and promoting it around the city, Tyga ran into his cousin, Gym Class Heroes member Travis McCoy, in the Flight Club L.A. sneaker shop. Their conversation went from shoes to rappers, and as Travis' group rose from unknowns to MTV stars, he would always remember that talk and his cousin's unique style.

Travis signed Tyga to his Bad Squad label and then invited him along when the punk-pop group Fall Out Boy came calling. Travis and Tyga would appear on the remix to Fall Out Boy's "Arms Race," which also featured Kanye West, Paul Wall, Skinhead Rob, Lupe Fiasco, and Lil Wayne. When the remix became a hit, Tyga found himself performing the track on MTV's Video Music Awards in 2007. He soon entered the studio to do some guest shots for his new friend Lil Wayne before shifting the focus to his solo career. His first single became the hooky "Coconut Juice," a S*A*M & Sluggo production that borrowed a bit of Harry Nilsson's hit "Coconut." As the club track was climbing the charts in the spring of 2008, Tyga was hard at work on his debut album, No Introduction, which was officially released that June.

He returned in 2012 with Careless World, a record that featured Game, Snoop Dogg, and Drake among its guests. Lil Wayne, Chris Brown, Rick Ross, and 2 Chainz landed on his 2013 effort Hotel California -- his second straight Top Ten album. Among his many guest verses around the time were a pair of hit collaborations with Chris Brown, "Deuces" (nominated for a Grammy in the category of Best Rap/Sung Collaboration) and "Loyal." The two opted to take their success to another level with Fan of a Fan: The Album, released in 2015. Later in the year, Tyga followed up with his fourth proper LP, The Gold Album: 18th Dynasty, as well as the mixtape Fuk What They Talkin Bout. "Do It Again," his collaboration with headliner Pia Mia, cracked the Hot 100 and also went platinum that year. Another tape, Rawwest Nigga Alive, arrived in 2016. The release featured appearances by Goapele, Chris Brown, Rick Ross, and 2 Chainz. Before the end of the year, Tyga signed with Kanye West's G.O.O.D. Music label, though nothing would materialize from the deal.

In 2017, Tyga released a series of high-profile collaborative singles including "Feel Me" with Kanye West, "Act Ghetto" with Lil Wayne, and "100's" with Chief Keef and A.E. His fifth official album, BitchI'mTheShit2 (the sequel to a 2011 mixtape), appeared in July, containing the singles featuring West and Keef as well as additional features by Vince Staples, Young Thug, Pusha T, and others. Tyga's prolific run continued a few months later with the Bugatti Raww mixtape, followed in early 2018 by his sixth album, Kyoto. Tyga subsequently scored a hit that summer with "Taste," featuring Migos' Offset. The slinky track broke into the Top Ten of the Hot 100, one of his highest showings to date. In 2019, he issued the quick follow-up Legendary, a typically horny set that included "Taste" and recruited guests Lil Wayne, Blueface, J Balvin, Bazzi, and Chris Brown.

Tyga appeared as a guest on a series of singles from various artists in 2020, as well as releasing "Freak," a collaborative song with Megan Thee Stallion. In the front half of 2021, he hit platinum again as the co-star of Blxst's "Chosen" and collaborated with Iggy Azalea on "Sip It" and Moneybagg Yo on "Splash." He also released the solo tracks "Mrs. Bubblegum" and "Lift Me Up." In February 2022, he paired with Doja Cat for the Billboard-charting "Freaky Deaky" and with Chris Brown for "Nasty." The year 2023 saw Tyga team up with YG on "Platinum" and the end-of-summer anthem "Party Time," tracks previewing the duo's Hit Me When U Leave the Klub: The Playlist, issued that September. Tyga surprisingly made an appearance on Cher's holiday album Christmas, then guested on Oscar Maydon's song "Kim Kardashian." The solo singles "Sensei" and "Hello B*tch" were released in 2024. ~ Fred Thomas & Andy Kellman

Along with being a key component of Shoreline Mafia, L.A. rapper Ohgeesy also operates solo, hitting hard with slick flows, catchy choruses, and songs marked by clean production and party-starting beats. His braggadocious personality took center stage on his 2021 debut album, Geezyworld. A sequel and the Berner collaboration Trophies arrived in 2023, and the rapper released the single "Yacht Master" in 2024.

Born Alejandro Coranza, Ohgeesy was one of the founding members of Los Angeles rap collective Shoreline Mafia. The group began in 2012, and by the end of the 2010s they had gathered significant buzz for their fun, unhinged, and often dark sound. After appearing as a featured guest on other artists' material, Ohgeesy offered up his first solo tracks in 2020, beginning with the bass-forward single "Bandemic (E.E.D.)." Several other singles preceded Ohgeesy's debut album, Geezyworld. Released through Atlantic in August 2021, the set reached number 102 on the Billboard 200 and featured guest spots from DaBaby, YG, A Boogie wit da Hoodie, and others. A deluxe version of the album appeared in 2022 and featured several popular bonus tracks, including "Go Fast" featuring Eladio Carrión and "Let Me Know" with Kalan.FrFr. Geezyworld 2, Cuffing Season EP, and Trophies (with Berner) all appeared in 2023. The single "Yacht Master" was issued in 2024. ~ Fred Thomas

Los Angeles rap duo BlueBucksClan use minimal, hard-edged beats to make lots of space for their uncompromising lyrics about money, power, and excess. The group went quickly from self-releasing mixtapes to collaborating with Quavo and Lil Yachty on their 2021 project Clan Virus 2. Their output continued with the 2022 EP See the Difference and 18-track Clan Way 3. They collaborated with producer Hit-Boy for 2024's Biggest Out the West.

BlueBucksClan was formed in 2019 by childhood friends DJ and Jeeezy. Both had grown up in South Los Angeles and met while in high school before going to college together on football scholarships. After college, they worked 9-to-5 jobs before deciding to make music a full-time venture; they released their debut mixtape, Clan Way, in 2019. From there, the rappers produced music nonstop, issuing mixtapes like No Rules, Clan Way 2, Going Up, Clan Virus, and No Rules 2 at a steady clip. By the March 2021 release of the mixtape Clan Virus 2, BlueBucksClan had signed on with Universal Music Group sublabel Out the Blue Records. Clan Virus 2 featured guest spots from Out the Blue labelmate Bino Rideaux as well as contributions from Quavo, Hit-Boy, Cash Kidd, and Lil Yachty. The four-song EP See the Difference appeared in 2022, followed that same year by the longer Clan Way 3. Included on the latter album were the collaborations "Let Me Know" with Jeremih and "Have You Ever" with Cash Kidd. Biggest Out the West, a full collaboration with Hit-Boy, arrived in 2024, and included apperances from Wiz Khalifa, 2 Chainz, and Ty Dolla $ign. ~ Fred Thomas
