Artist bios

Amble are an acoustic trio from Ireland whose earnest reflections put a spotlight on the everyday. They released their first EP, Of Land and Sea, in early 2024 and were selling out clubs in Ireland and the U.K. by the arrival of the follow-up, The Commons, later the same year.

With members hailing Leitrim, Longford, and Sligo, Ireland, Amble formed after the three of them -- strangers at the time -- played the same bill in late 2022. Ross McNerney (mandolin, guitar) voice-messaged Robbie Cunningham (vocals, guitar) and Oisín McCaffrey (guitar, vocals) immediately after the gig to say that they needed record their music. A handful of songs including a brief live EP appeared under the Amble moniker in early 2023, and they quickly gained a following, selling out small clubs well in advance by halfway through the year. Their first proper EP, Of Land and Sea, came out in February 2024, with subsequent non-EP singles continuing to rack up hundreds of thousands of streams in the months to follow. August 2024's "Lonely Island" caught on with Irish people living abroad, leading to millions of additional plays, and Amble's sophomore EP, The Commons, was released in November of that year. About a suicide note left on a train, its moving title track was penned on train trip from Dublin to Longford. ~ Marcy Donelson
