Bought this as a replacement for an old sensor which must have become defective as it had started reporting false alerts and burning through the coin batteries (they were only lasting about 3 weeks) - we had had the old sensor for a few years so it was out of warranty but we were not too upset as these are relatively inexpensive to replace. It was easy to install, just scan the barcode using the app to set it up, then fix the unit up on your door/window with the supplied sticky pads or screws. (Although in our case we re-used part of the old sensor’s fixings, we just swapped out the main unit that contains the electronics and batteries).

So far so good, the sensor is behaving as I expect. The Ring alarm system as a whole is something I would recommend - although all sensors are battery operated, they typically have a long life and you can monitor the battery life via the app - and insurance companies are starting to view that a self-install alarm is equally as acceptable as a professionally-installed/maintained system.

Only issue so far is one sensor close to the base station going offline and was replaced. غ was great in replacing it under warranty

We bought a Ring home alarm and were so impressed with it that we bought these sensors to put on every door and window in our house

They're lightweight, look smart and are easy to attach to doors and windows with the built in adhesive strip

They connect to the app fast and easy and they have customisable sounds so that you can tell which door or window is open

I like how they can be installed and have a gap between the magnet part and sensor part, because of the shape of our double glazed windows there is at least a 2cm gap when installing them

We have had some of these for over a year now and the app shows that the batteries still have plenty of juice left in them. They use the CR2032 flat style batteries

We did have one of the units just randomly die on us recently. So, we called Ring customer service who were very helpful. After completing a few tests on the unit as instructed over the phone, the operator said that the unit was dead and sent us out a new one free of charge. The only let down was that it was 5 days to arrive. Being a security item and an غ brand where you are able to have these delivered same day, I would have expected faster delivery on replacement parts so that my home didn't have to go unprotected so long

This was to replace a faulty contact sensor 1 and is great. It really is small and was an absolute breeze to fit.
Change of battery size is annoying but also good as it means unit can be smaller, batteries are easier to buy too but don't know how easy changing them will be yet. Overall, very pleased as replacement sensor 1 would have cost £17 and a new sensor 2 & £19, no brainer.

These are part of my Ring security system.
They are great for places you don't want cameras/want a more discreet detection or additional device.
I have one at my back door as a pre-warning before the camera picks up any movement.

Ring make everything so simple to set up.
Easy to set up - just use the QR code on the device and allocate a location to it.
Clean the surface and attach the sensors.
