I bought these binoculars for watching golf events and bird watching in the garden. They are superb for the purposes we needed.

We went to the Open and the golf at the Olympics and they were exactly what we needed. They were surprisingly sharp and clear and gave excellent vision for the short distances we required.

The lens caps are great feature and meant that no matter where we were, or how rushed, we knew we couldn't lose them as they were attached.

The focusing is very sharp, as you would expect, and there was little to no light leakage - the images stayed sharp and in focus.

I cannot say how these would be for longer distances as we didn't need them for longer than 300-500 yards but they almost certainly would not be suitable for star gazing
