These clamps are certainly of a simple design and are made of strong stuff! Having used them to hold some wood in place on my mft top, the clamps were easy to position, both for height and for direction. The clamping force was excellent and the turn required to provide this force was only slight meaning it could be achieved with one hand (just).
Others have commented that the clamps can leave marks on the surface of the material being clamped and I would agree with this, but they do not leave any mark greater than any other clamp I have used at this strength. You can easily mitigate this by using some shims or thin off cuts to create a barrier between your clamp and the workpiece.
I will definitely look to purchase more if/when I get a bigger MFT table.
