Smoked creamed cod roe is a Swedish breakfast staple and a bit like marmite – you either love it or hate it.

Kalles Kaviar is one of the most famous Swedish products of all time – and also amongst the best loved ones. Launched in 1954, Kalles is based on a recipe that dates back hundreds of years, which found its way to Abba by way of a thrifty peddler who sold them the recipe for 100) Swedish Crowns – a small fortune in 1954. Abba made a pretty good deal though – as Kalles is as popular as ever and is found in Swedish fridges everywhere. Try it with hardboiled egg for breakfast, with cheese or simply on its own on some good bread or crispbread. This is a chilled item.

The small print is accurate - listing the tube as being 190g. Unforunately, the main image states clearly (in Swedish) that it is "Extra large tube 350g". Not everyobody reads Swedish, but most people know what 350g means. The tuve supplied was 190g not 350g.
