- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 9 January 2016still a bit cut but no more cut than the US euroshock release
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 29 June 2015More from the master of gore. Lucio fans buy it, Mary Whitehouse fans beware.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 14 November 2010Love love love this film! Always have since first saw it on VHS back in 1994. Everything from the music to the hot doctor guy, it has it all! Its really not as bad as others have said, esp when you compare it to the bloody crap films we have to endure today! This is a good old fun horror film and its flaws are all part of its charm!
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 4 November 2014weird but okay
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 21 February 2016very good. product as described and delivered quickly.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 30 April 2017Fulci stays awful. This is a slow and mediocre mess. Like most of his dreadful output it seems to have no script or direction. Acting, fx, music... Ridiculous bordering on the annoying. 2K transfer of the blu-ray looks like a DVD, so not worth the upgrade. Two thumbs down.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 23 April 2017Not one of the great mans best efforts.Very eighties with a cast straight out of acorn antiques. I knew snails had an agenda. Not gory at all. The opening song certainly sets the tone. Awfully cheesy. Although I have been singing the chorus for most of the day. For fans only.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 1 June 2012Fulci had quite the versatile career directing and writing many genres of film. Westerns, giallo, romance, and almost every form (even formless) of horror. Many are exceptional milestones of visual style. Some are mediocre at best. And a few are plain bad. Many, including myself, have to agree: Aenigma is a bad, bad example of Lucio horror.
I'd would describe Aenigma as a confusing blend of older psychic revenge films such as Patrick or Carrie, with a pinch of possession rip-off and late eighties Euro sleaze.
2 stars is the best i can give Mr. Fulci here, which is generous considering how uneven Aenigma is as a horror entry. Fulci completists may find something , but they shouldn't expect fireworks...only lots of killer snails.

5.0 out of 5 stars "Head over heels"
"Jennifer, let's get one thing straight. For me a successful year means making out with as many gorgeous boys as possible! Heehee!"
Lara Lamberti is fantastic in this cheesy all-girls-school supernatural revenge Fulci flick. The dialogue and its delivery are awkward, the story has holes, and the deaths are legendary! This is a perfect example of a "so-bad-it's-good" movie. It's not for everyone, but it's one of my top favorite films. I couldn't be happier to own a physical copy. It's definitely become one of my comfort movies.

3.0 out of 5 stars bizarre !
a bizzare movie from lucio fulci that includes death by snails and truly has to be scene eighties teenagers . one of whom comes back from the dead to get revenge on those who teased and eventually accidently killed her. largely bloodless.
