Out of the box, the sound was pretty terrible for two reasons:
1 the gain was way too high. The volume control is indented, and by the second notch it was too loud on both of my headphones (sennheiser 595 and Sony wh900)
2 the supplied tubes sounded harsh to my ears in the upper midrange.
Problem 1 sorted by buying inline attenuators, IMG Stageline 21.2840 Passive Level Attenuator from amazon
Problem 2 sorted by buying a matched pair of 5654W tubes.
It sounds good now, very smooth with a broad soundstage although a bit lacking in bass via the sennheisers.

My advice: buy a headphone amp with a gain control and decent tubes!

It’s a inexpensive yet well build head phone amp, I use it from the pit out of my audio interface to power my dt990 pro 250ohm headphones and it does this with ease. Sounds clear and articulate. If you’re buying it in the uk however you will need and adapter for the plug as the default power pack has 2 slanted (China/Australia) pins. You can pick one up off here for about a fiver.

I own both this amp, and the Suca T2. Both amps use the same circuit board. As far as I can tell, the only differences are that the Fosi (on the left in the photos) has better quality tube sockets and (possibly) superior soldering. In addition, the Fosi’s adapter socket has a larger diameter centre pin. Sound quality of the amps is the same, which is to say, very good: excellent tonal balance (no coloration) and decent soundstage.

Neither amp advertises that the op amps are replaceable (they are socketed rather than soldered to the board). I think, in fact, that the op amps are principally responsible for signal amplification, while the tubes perform only a buffering function. Thus, changing the op amps likely has a greater effect on the sound quality than changing the tubes (get a Jonard S-340, or similar tool to remove the op amps). That said, the amps sound fine with the stock tubes and op amps, and you may be perfectly happy with either amp as is.

I have tried a number of tubes and op amps in the devices (esp. in the Suca, which I’ve had longer). Tube options are as follows:
6K4 (stock) = 6BA6, 5749
6J1 = 6AK5, 5654
6J4 = 6AU6, EF94

Reasonably priced op amp options include:
Burr Brown (TI) OPA2132, OPA2134, OPA2604, OPA2227, OPA2107
National Semiconductor (TI) LM4562, LME49720, LME49860
Analog Devices OP275
Muses 8920
Be sure to get the DIP-8 version of any op amp you are considering.

I am currently using 5749 tubes and OPA2227 op amps in the Fosi, and 6AK5 tubes and Muses 8920 op amps in the Suca. Both amps are powered by 12v adapters with lots of available current (2 amps or more). The amps are functioning without issue, and sound great (with 300 ohm Sennheiser HD 580s).

Pair it with the Superlux HD681B headphones and you'll have a very decent setup for less than 100$!
But it also works unexpectedly well with both my AKG K701 and Audioquest Nightowl Carbon headphones.

N'ayant pas l'oreille audiophile, je ne jugerais pas la qualité sonore car je ne vois presque aucune différence entre cet ampli à tube et un autre ampli à transistor que j'ai pu essayer. Donc je me concentrerais sur la partie technique et les diverses choses que j'ai pu remarquer.

1- emballage / déballage :
On commence par un petit hic, le fait que le carton n'ait pas d'emballage extérieur pour du matériel (hifi). Le risque de vols est grand, mais après tout, il est bien arrivé à destination, alors j'en fais peut-être un peu trop.
Le déballe maintenant, tout est protégé dans une sorte de mousse que l'on retrouve assez souvent, donc pas de problème à ce niveau, mais une chose me perturbe habituellement : il y a un petit film en plastique sur l'ampli qu'il n'y a pas. Il est dû reconditionner car il n'y est fait mention nulle part. Bon, passons au deuxième bémol : le câble d'alimentation est un peut moins flexible souvent signe d'une surchauffe du cable suite a une trop grosse consommation de courant sela me renforce dans l'idée que ce soi du reconditioner et deuxième problème est es que ce chargeur et celui d'origine et est t'il bien dimensionner pour ce produit car il n'y et fais mention nul part de puissance ou d'intensité consommer par le produit juste la tension de fonctionnement et marquer donc malheureusement impossible a vérifier.

2-essais de fonctionnement (entre jack et sortie casque avec un autre adaptateur que celui fourni) :
Les tubes ont l'air de fonctionner car quand on écoute, alors que les tubes sont froids, le son est très faible et monte progressivement en quelques secondes. De plus, les tubes montent à ~40°C (photo à l'appui). On voit aussi les points chauds plus orangés que le rouge dû aux LED pour ajouter de l'effet. La finition métal est appréciable et joue aussi le rôle de dissipateur thermique, donc très intéressante (pas d'inquiétude, le métal n'est pas très chaud). Fonctionne bien avec un casque de 80 ohm, chauffe assez vite et ne coûte pas si cher, même si ça reste un budget tout de même. Je ne le recommande pas mais ne le désapprouve pas pour autant. Personnellement, il me suffit pour répondre à ma problématique de la qualité trop faible à bas volume. C'est beaucoup mieux avec. À vous de vous faire votre propre avis sur ce produit (dommage qu'il nais pas les led bleus ca rendre mieux mais es ci grave).

Nach der Reaktivierung meiner Kassettensammlung aus den 80ern, musste eine Abspiellösung her. Der Walkman war hinüber, neue Walkmans haben keine guten Tonköpfe mehr und sie leiern und das alte Hifi Rack wurde wegen der Digitalisierung und Streaming Dienste auf dem Boden eingemottet. Also holte ich das Kassetten Tape Deck meines alten Yamaha Hifi Turms wieder vom Boden runter und was soll ich sagen, zusammen mit dem Fosi Verstärker spare ich mir das klobige Verstärkerdeck und habe Klang ohne Ende. Selbst bei 5 Euro Walkman Kopfhörern und dem Fosi Regler auf 9 Uhr knallt es einem einen Sound um die Ohren, den man mit dem Walkman allein nicht hinbekommt. Der Regler rastet sanft in Millimeterschritten ein. Das zeugt von Qualität. So muss das sein. Wenn man dann noch Hifi Kopfhörer mit bis zu 250 Ohm Impedanz hat, dann kann ich mir vorstellen, dass beim Klang noch eine gewaltige Schippe draufgelegt wird. Aber für den Anfang tun's die Günstigen. Also, wer mit dem Gedanken spielt, sich einen Verstärker für seine Kopfhörer zuzulegen, der ist bei Fosi an der richtigen Adresse. Für alle nicht Technikversierten - das Tape Deck muss einen Kopfhörerausgang haben. Über die Line Out Buchsen funktioniert das nicht.
