Good Simple Universal Remote Control
This could be for young children, or elderly relatives. It is very simple to operate, with just the main buttons needed for TV control. It isn't suitable for use with any set-top boxes - just the TVs. No satellite. No Cable. Just TV.It is compatible with pretty much all of the big-brand TVs. In my case it works perfectly with LG.The layout is very clear, with good colour coding. It's obvious how everything works. There is a nice bright red LED which shows when you have successfully pressed a button.Batteries are AAA, and you need to supply your own. There are no programming codes to enter - it scans through all the TV brands in a simple one-time search. You set the search up with a long press of the Mute + Volume Up buttons, and then watch the TV screen for a volume change. At that moment you see the TV volume change, you press the mute button again, and the search stops on your brand of TV.It has all the buttons needed for operating my TV. I was worried that the Home button would operate one of the wrong functions, but (at least on LG TVs) it did exactly the right thing. The back key is a necessary addition, as are the curser arrows and the OK button. With those, I can do pretty much anything needed. It feels light in the hand, and a bit hollow, but there are no imperfections in the finish. If I'm trying to find any negatives, I would say that the buttons are a little heavy to push. With elderly relatives, if they have bad arthritis, then they might have difficulty with the force of the push.I also wonder whether the lack of an input select button might be a problem for some brands. In LG it is OK.Functionally it is good. Price is fair. Recommended.

Got this for my dad whose eyesight is quite poor now, and I really like it or not.

The buttons are (obviously) bright and bold, but they're also nicely made and have a good feel to them when pressed.

Also really like the pairing process. You just press the yellow and green buttons for a few seconds, then it sends different codes for "volume up". As soon as your TV responds and the volume control appears on the screen, you press the yellow button to stop the process and the remote just works.

This does however mean that pairing can take a minute or more and you have to react quickly to stop it at the right time. And it also means that if you're TV isn't supported, it's just not going to work at all. But there's a wide enough list of manufacturers that most people will be covered.

Overall, I'm very happy with this. It makes the important buttons easy to see and cuts out all the extra stuff. You can still use your standard remote to do things like change settings, but for every day use, this is all you need.

My mother loves this, as she only needs the main controls on her TV remote, yet the main one is covered in ones she simply doesn't need.

Furthermore, the ones included here are virtually all the main ones needed, and most importantly of all, the buttons are obviously nice and big here, which is the main reason for simplicity.

At the great price, makes this an easy buy.

My dad is in his 90s and often struggles with his TV remote control that has small black buttons with small text on a black background.
Many of the functions on the original remote are for things he doesn’t need and doesn’t understand.
This remote is much easier for him to use. Pairing it with his Samsung TV was straightforward although I did that for him.
It’s bigger than the original remote with large multi-coloured buttons with only the essential functions – volume, channel, mute, menu, up, down, left, right, return and power. It needs two AAA batteries which are not included.
It works well and makes my dad’s life easier.

ÍøÆغÚÁÏ Vine Customer Review of Free Product( What's this? )
I have a very nice LG OLED TV that came with a very hefty price tag and a so called Magic Remote.. About the only thing I don't like about the tele is that Magic remote. The main problems are that there are a multitude of fairly small buttons and there is no backlight and so when I am watching in blackout conditions I find it very difficult to locate the menu button and often end up pressing the wrong button and being taken to a screen that I just don't want to be on.

I ordered this remote in desperation. I realised that it isn't backlit but it does have large buttons and there are few of them with the all important menu button being at bottom right and very easy to locate, as is the power button at top left.

One niggle is that the listing's written instructions for pairing to the TV are different to what is shown in the listing video. You have to follow the video or the instruction leaflet that is included, which say: 1. Turn on the TV 2. Put batteries in the remote 3. Point the remote at the TV and hold down the Mute and the + Volume button together for about 5 seconds. 4. You can let go once the small red light towards the top of the remote starts to flash. 5. When the Volume control indicator appears on the TV press the mute button again and the pairing is finished.

I was quite excited about getting this remote. It promised to have the basic functions that I need and would have been a real boon in my dark TV room. When I received it I was pleased with how it felt in the hand and it's ease of use with the over size buttons that I could locate even in the dark. However, when I initially paired the remote to TV the crucial function of accessing the menu just didn't work. When I pressed the menu button I was taken to the Programme Manager screen and the only way off that screen was via the OK button which took me to the Edit All Programmes screen. From there no button worked to take me forward or back, I was a prisoner on that screen and had to resort to the old remote to rescue me or turn the TV off with the new remote and then turn on again.

Then I realised that the instructions actually said to test the buttons and if they didn't work correctly them you should repeat the procedure. On the second attempt I got what I wanted. The menu button took me to the menu and all the buttons worked as expected. I was impressed and very happy with this very simple device..

All I can say is , if at first you fail, try and try again ! I nearly wrote this remote off but that was because I hadn't fully grasped what the instructions were telling me . If the remote doesn't work first time around just repeat the pairing procedure and it may reach the desired settings.
