No. To connect 4K60 S+ via USB to a computer, a Windows 10 PC is required.

Can I stream with 4K60 S+?

Yes, by connecting 4K60 S+ to a PC running Windows 10 that meets the minimum system requirements. 4K60 S+ should be connected directly to a USB 3.0 port and not via a USB hub or USB extension cable.

Can I capture next-gen consoles with 4K60 S+?

Yes. 4K60 S+ can capture PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S at up to 4K resolution at 60 frames per second with HDR. Before capturing PlayStation 5, HDCP on the PlayStation 5 needs to be disabled.

What can I do to fix a grainy preview image in the 4K Capture Utility software?

Make sure you've got the latest version of 4K Capture Utility installed, 4K60 S+ is connected directly to a USB 3.0 port on the computer without a USB hub, and the computer's GPU driver is up to date.

What can I do when my SD card recording does not play properly?

4K60 S+ records at very high data rates. An SD card with the specified speed rating of V30 (Video Class 30)/UHS-3 (Ultra High Speed Class 3) or better is required. Lower the video bitrate in the settings file to resolve issues with corrupt recordings

I ended up trying 2 of these and neither worked at all.

The first one had no power going to the unit so replaced it for another. The second card had power but its signal was 2 weak to bit it up. I thought maybe it was an issue somewhere else in my set up so I tried it on 3 different screens, my Series X and S, tried 4 different combinations of power leads and plugs and 4 different high-quality HDMI cables. Nothing made a difference. I was always staring at a black screen.

I also, tried connecting it directly to my PC, instead of using it in standalone mode, and the PC detected it was there but couldn't find a picture either.

Save your money. This isn't the high-end capture card the price suggests.

Having been a loyal Hauppauge customer for years, my PVR2 capture card was finally failing and I decided to take the plunge and go with Elgato after hearing so many amazing things about them.

The 4K60 S+ was perfect for my needs and I was eager to start recording in 4k from my PS5 - to no avail.

Despite the plug and play claims, I spent hours on end, with every possible configuration, having obviously disabled HDCP, updated all drivers on my laptop & the Elgato and even double and triple checking my TV's hardware/updates etc - the 4K60 S+ simply REFUSED to give me a signal. Absolutely nothing worked. I feared it may be a communication issue with my PS5 of some sort, so I tried hooking up the Elgato to the PS4 - Exactly the same problem. No Passthrough signal. As a last ditch attempt, I even tried a different brand of TV - no change. The 4K60 S+ simply didn't give out a signal on either the TV's or the Laptop.

So much for my dive into the world of Elgato. After 24 hours of pulling my hair out trying to get it to work, I've now sent it back for a refund and will be buying another Hauppauge capture card instead. Better the devil you know!

With a £400 price tag I expected a lot better from this product.
Video Capture quality altho very smooth, it does have an issue with Colour Degradation resulting in washed out colours which apparently is a known issue with the HDR which requires correction in external editing software.
There was also an issue with sound volume through the Hdmi being so low it was practically inaudible, even with all sound settings turned up to max volume.
And finally the unit itself got so hot you could barely touch it, even when just idling (not recording)
Egatos 4k capture software also had issues causing a Droste effect on screen when connected to same pc being captured from. so a 2nd pc / laptop would be required to capture pc gaming if you don't wanna be copying 100s gb from an sd card for editing...

Unfortunately this unit (4K60s+) was dead on arrival. Output signal appears to be the main cause of concern for this unit as per thousand of reviews online , there’s apparently no fix for it, a software update couldn’t fix mine wasted over 7 hours going through all sort of troubleshoot methods. I would not recommend this item until Elgato brings out a revised unit.

I’ve since invested in a much better brand with outstanding quality and reliability. I paid more but it was well worth it (great for streaming PS5 and XBOX series X games in 4K60)

I was in dire need of a new capture card and Elgato products have always been my go-to whenever I needed something of high quality and I can honestly say that this capture card goes beyond that. After a lot of use with this capture card, I can safely say that this is hands down one of the best ones to own and it’s very much worth the price. The functionality of being able to record without a PC is also a plus if you honestly don’t feel like booting it up or if you use a laptop. Just insert your SD card, plug it in, and it’s good to go!

I’ve also recorded a few videos without PC and went onto Premiere Pro and the quality and playback are absolutely crisp. It captures everything perfectly and it’s no struggle setting up. I would highly recommend this to anyone if you really want to take your game recording up a notch, as it really does the best job!

ik ben heel blij met de korting iets van de prijs af is natuurlijk goed en leuk en goed voor de planeet enz maar als ze claimen dat het in zeer goede staat is verwacht je ook dat het compleet is en niet dat de adapter en een kabel er simpelweg niet bij zitten dus gelukkig heb ik nog wel hier en daar een adapter en waarempel eentje die ik helaas voor iets anders nodig heb doet het erop dus het device is goed en werkt want kabel had ik zeker wel usb c maar goed neemt niet weg dat ik dus nu nog eens 50-70 euro kwijt zal zijn voor de power adapter en ik wil het gewoon houden reden de vorrige order zou 28 okt hier zijn daardoor is een feest de mist in gegaan nu heb ik dit als alternatief en het werkt nu maarja die adapter is van iets anders en is daar voor nodig dus ik moet een vervangende hebben desnoods ander merk prima maar heb het opgezocht kost wel idd best 50-70 euro zo;n ding maar als ik het terug stuur en een nieuwe koop 399 ipv 275 ofzo dan ben ik duurder uit en ik vind amazon mag best even wat korting geven op een adapter als ik deze ook bij hun zal kopen natuurlijk dus blij ja maar wel met zure smaak omdat ik nu ook net mail krijg dat het ding van 28 okt vandaag op 31 okt zal worden geleverd door dhl ik weiger deze dan maar of meld hem retour want ik wil niet 275 betalen en deze 143,99 had ik al betaald word een dure hobby zo. maar warehouse deals zijn voor mij even over want dit is de 2e keer in korte tijd dat ik pech heb met deze deals dus betaal voortaan liever dan maar iets meer dan teleurgesteld zijn als je er achter komt het niet compleet is.
