I often had to reheat 1/2 mugs of coffee in the microwave or just throw away. I hate drinking out of a thermal-insulated mug, so I decided to try this product.
It works REALY well.
Do not press your fingers on it once switched on, as some people have done according to reviews, it is a HOT-plate. Would you test a hot-plate in your kitchen with your hand?
As soon as it was plugged in it heated up VERY quickly, and by just hovering my hand over the top I could feel the heat radiating from it.
My mugs do have a very slightly concave base, but this still keeps my drinks hot( the mug itself heats up)
I cannot notice a temperature difference between the 2 settings - as is claimed in the instructions - and I have some doubts about the longevity of the product, but so far I am VERY pleased with it.

Nice design - simple and easy to use. BUT, as someone else pointed out, unless you have a flat-bottomed mug this does not work very well. And most mugs do not have flat-bottoms - I don't have a single one so the coffee/tea does not stay very warm and nowhere near hot. I am now ordering a special mug to see if that works better - it should, as the base itself does get hot - but so far it is a bit disappointing.

UPDATE: I have now got my flat-bottomed mug and it works brilliantly. So well that I have now bought another warmer plus another mug. The combo does exactly what I wanted and I am v pleased with the warmer - discrete and effective.

If you haven't bought one of these dont expect it to be able to reheat your tea or anything but they do a good job of keeping the tea warm if your the sort of person who leaves their half-drunk tea for a while. Just remember to switch it on when you place your mug down. It has two settings red- hot and blue-less hot. Not sure why you would use the blue setting

I've been chosen to write a review on this product, but unfortunately all I have is bad news I'm afraid.

So, I'll just get this point out there first, this thing gets hot, like real hot.

I opened this product to try out and waited for it to heat up. I hovered my hand over and couldn't feel any heat, so I touched it and it was cold to the touch.

At first I thought something was wrong so I decided to feel if the centre was heating up. I end up burning my fingers and was left with blisters, along with spilling my drink everywhere. I cannot believe they're allowed to sell something that hot, if you forgot about it, even for a moment it could EASILY cause a fire.

I've thrown mine away as I couldn't risk having this in my house. It's possible that it was faulty, but if a fault in a product can literally weld you skin to the plate, I don't think it should be sold. I would not and could not recommend this product to someone.

It's supposed to be a coffee warmer, not a god damn forge. I'm not kidding, this thing is bloody dangerous and would easily melt your carpet if accidentally knocked on to the floor.

I was thinking of gifting one to my mother in law for school as her drink often gets cold, but with all the paper lying around and children run about, it would have been a fire risk, no doubt.

Product looks nice, no doubt, but after my experience I can't recommend it.
