What are the advantages over the JW-03?

Lower latency, more stable transmission efficiency, more fewer interference.

Why do some users have the problem of signal interruption or cut off?

Very impressed with this. Even though I am just a home hobby player being able to wander around the house playing is very cool!

This works on the 5.8Ghz band, rather than 2.4Ghz so in theory has better bandwidth but not so good at penetrating walls etc. I can't see those aspects are really going to matter if you play on stage (or around the house as it turns out) but the 2.4Ghz band is crowded and is more prone to interference.

It's pretty much plug and play, pair the transmitter and receiver and away you go.

I can't really detect any latency.

This gizmo is just what you need if you play an electric guitar. I would say the electric guitar is probably the most iconic and important instrument ever invented. Without it we wouldn't have rock music let alone all those classic songs that exist.

However one of the one things holding back electric guitars has always been the cable leading to the mixer or amp. Well now you can ditch those and replace them with these great devices. Now I know these have been around for a while, but this version is far superior in many ways. The main one is that it operates at 5.8Ghz rather than the older 2.4Ghz which means you get less chance of interference and higher quality sound. Latency seems to be virtually nil as well which is very impressive especially as you get a fairly good range with it that should suit most guitar players - unless you play a big stadium maybe!

There is also support for 4 different wave bands so if you have multiple guitars in your band you can all use these devices and not have to worry about any interference issues. Setting them up is simplicity itself also, you just turn both the transmitter and receiver on and select the same coloured band for both devices, they will at that point automatically connect after just a second or two which is signified by the coloured LED going solid rather than flashing.

Run time is a good 6 hours on a single charge which should suit most people, charging is by a normal USB power source using the provided lead.

Another nice thought is that the transmitter/receiver feature a swiveling function that allows you to plug them into pretty much any angled socket and then flatten the body of the unit against say the surface of the guitar or amp so that there is little chance of them catching on anything.

So if you like playing guitars and crave the freedom of not having a trailing lead then this is for you!!

I already own the Joyo WS-03 wireless guitar kit, which I've used happily for many years. This kit (JW-02S) claims some advantages over that version, namely:

- Lower latency

I can't say I've ever had a problem with the JW-03 (which uses the 2GHZ band) or noticed any long delay, although it does feel like there is slightly less latency with this version.

I think the manufacturer has missed a few other advantages this kit has:

- USB-C charging as opposed to micro USB (in both cases you get a dual cable to help with charging)
- Much better LEDs
- Slightly smaller form factor
- Easier buttons

There are a couple of minor disadvantages:

- The old kit has rubber on the back, to avoid scratching your guitar
- Slightly worse battery life

Either of these JOYO kits is well worth the money for an entry into wireless guitar. The JW-02S is, overall, the slightly better version and worth the extra few pounds.

I've been testing this not with a guitar, but using a DAW and with the transmitter plugged into the headphone out of a Focusrite Scarlett 2i4, and the receiver into one of my M-Audio monitor speakers. The result has been working flawlessly and with minimal latency, eliminating the need for cabling to the monitor speaker. I was also able to take the speaker to another room with no reception issues. Very handy when I don't need a stereo setup and don't want to have a cable trailing to the monitor.
