This amp comes with a power saving mode, it will automatically shut down within 5 minutes without any signal input.

Why is the sound of this amplifier lower than the claimed 15W?

Before turning on, if all the knobs are adjusted to the maximum or middle position, the power after turning on may only be around 2.2W.

There's nothing to really horrifically dislike about this little amp, except the price tag. It's just a bit too expensive at £185 when you consider what else is out there, and I'm afraid 'Joyo' just doesn't have the same cachet, cool factor or name recognition as the Fender or Vox amp you could get for less money.

That aside, it's not bad, but a bit limited. The clean tones through my Telecaster are nice and clean and capture that fender twang without being shrill, and the overdrive settings have a reasonably nice blues crunch, but doesn't react to harder playing very well. There is very limited control over the pre-set tones, and not EQ so if you want that swept-mid death metal sound, you're out of luck. You're pretty much stuck with the presets.

The effects are fun, but again very limited. I liked the tremolo for that surf guitar sound, but you can't control any of the parameters, so again, you're stuck with what there is. The looper is fun to play with, but honestly, once the novelty wears off, you'll probably not use it.

You get a drum machine, with some simple drum loops. You can change the tempo, but not by much - I found you couldn't slow things right down if you want something really languid, but the sound quality is good. It sounds like a drum kit, not a synth.

Things I did like were the bluetooth integration. You can use the amp as a big bluetooth speaker and then play over the music. Great for learning pieces, or practicing.

The volume control is good. Sounds silly, but for a practice amp it's very useful to be able to turn the volume down to almost nothing, and a lot of practise amps tend to cut off rather than fade out to zero.

Overall, it's just a bit meh. A battery powered practice amp is always useful, but the built-in effects are very limited and not terribly useable. When you consider for a similar amount of money you could buy a simple practice amp with no bells or whistles, and a separate effects processor that gives you far more control then this is amp is a bit hard to recommend. Nothing really wrong with it, but there are better alternatives.

I played via bluetooth connection, signal is easy to detect and maintain connection. It is quiet a strong speaker. Although even on high volume the sound did not break. Disclaimer: I do not play in bands or go out busking, so I can't say whether this would be good in those situations, but for home practice and playing around it is great fun.

Primarily it is a practise amp, and can be used just for that, but it is the extra features that provide the fun. First off there is the ability to connect another device (probably a phone in most cases) either by cable or Bluetooth to provide music that you can play along to. Sound quality on this is fine, you could use it as a Bluetooth speaker though its a bit big, bulky and expensive to just use it for that.

The next useful feature is looping, which can be controlled by a pedal. Hours of fun pretending to be Ed Sheeran or KT Tunstall!

There are also various effects and some drum patterns built in. Options are a bit limited but it does provide some accompaniment and timekeeping - tempos can obviously be adjusted.

Finally there is the option to record whatever you are doing using the output sockets, and (possibly most importantly for your neighbours) plug in headphones.

Just about the only thing missing is a microphone input, but otherwise a complete package for playing around at home.

The price feels a bit high, but I am no expert and don't know what the going rate is for this sort of thing. I do know that it feels satisfyingly heavy and solid and certainly doesn't feel cheap so perhaps it is worth it.
