This coffee grinder is well-made and feels sturdy. I've used it to grind coffee beans for cafetiere and it works perfectly. It only has one setting, and it basically 'chops' the coffee beans rather than grinding them. So, the coffee grounds are not in even size and not suitable for espresso machine. I have used it regularly for my second cup and I think it's quite reliable for its purpose. It is priced at £24.99 at the time of review, which I think is reasonable considering its quality.

Only suitable for coffee beans, as it’s a coffee grinder. For the aspiring coffee connoisseur , only grind enough to get the freshest and must flavourful coffee. You really have to be a connoisseur to grind your beans every time and grind the coarseness to suit the coffee making appliance. It was fun and easy to use for the first few days and I'd recommend watching a few YouTube videos (there's tons!!!) but then I got bored as it became tiresome and the lid and grinding bowl are not dishwasher safe. I returned to my bean to cup machine but I will say it doesn't taste the same.

For those wondering it’s not suitable for ice cubes, spices, chocolate or nuts as it invalidates the warranty. Not only this, you don’t want the oils from eg nuts to then taint your next batch of coffee beans.

It’s a good little grinder and was fast and easy to use. It's probably perfect for the beginner to try things out and it has a nice sleek stainless steel body (prone to show finger marks)

In a nutshell:

Things I liked:

+ Operation is very straightforward. The controls couldn't be simpler and grinding beans is an extremely quick and effective process. The results are also good. The grind quality is consistent and the coffee that the resultant grounds makes is great.
+ It's compact and doesn't have a large footprint, meaning you can leave it out on the side if you're a regular coffee drinker.
+ All the parts are removable and they're easy to hand clean.
+ At just under £25, it's a very good value product.

Things I didn't like:

- I really would have liked some of the parts to be dishwasher-safe. The fact that you have to clean it by hand makes it a little bit inconvenient.

Do I recommend it?

Yes, absolutely. For the price, it's an excellent value grinder.

The Morphy Richards 210252 Electric Coffee Grinder is a compact and reasonably stylish grinder. The stainless steel finish means it will fit into any kitchen scene although I find that steel is always a bit prone to showing fingerprints.

The grinding bowl can be removed and the clear lid has to be locked into place before the motor will start which is a handy little feature. The maximum level is shown on the inside of the bowl and you can observe how it's performing through the clear lid. The grinder only operates whilst the button is being pressed.

A basic grinder which takes 60g of coffee beans, which is enough for 2-3 cups. Your could also use it for grinding dried spices or chillies but would only recommend this if you had another for coffee.

I normally use an integrated grinder in my Sage Barista Touch machine, but sometimes it is useful to have a spare to grind a different coffee to try, rather than emptying your main hopper and it is for this purpose that I will use it.

This electric coffee grinder by Morphy Richards arrived in a branded cardboard box and was held in place with foam and protected with a plastic bag to prevent any scuffs during shipping. The grinder measures 18.2cm in height with a diameter of 10.5cm which fits neatly on my countertop without taking up too much space.

The grinder has a stainless-steel finish to the main body for a modern, sleek look (although bear in mind this can show up fingerprints quite easily) and has a capacity of up 60g of beans which can produce 2-3 cups of coffee from one grind. The best feature about this grinder is and removeable grinding cup which makes both the process of dispensing the grounds easier as well as making the clean-up much simpler.

The clear lid clicks securely into place and the clear lid plastic means that you can monitor the grind level. The grinder will only operate when the lid is locked into place and the button on the front is pressed down continuously. This makes the grinder very safe to operate and I like the simplicity of the design. You can grind beans to ground coffee very quickly and it isn’t overly noisy during operation either.

The ground coffee has a good level of grind throughout and is perfect for refillable pods, cafetières or moka pots. It can also be used for dry ingredients like spices and herbs which is useful, but I wouldn’t suggest mixing with coffee in case it transfers flavours. The 150W power motor delivers a consistent grind, and priced at £24.99 at the time of reviewing, I think that this is a good price given the quality of build and consistent results. It also comes with a 3-year warranty for peace of mind as well.

It's a blender not a grinder in my opinion. Not great with beans, without manually shaking it. It's good if you have some pre-ground coffee that's too chunky for your chosen preparation method.

I had some cafetière pre-ground that was too chunky for my aeropress. The coffee blender made it fine enough that it brought out more flavours and use a normal time for steeping.

Washing it isn't great. It doesn't come apart. Worse, water and grinds got in the gap between the plastic and metal housing, and it can see it leeching. Looks ugly, but also a nice place for bacteria.

Personally, I'd save up for a burr grinder instead.
