- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 6 November 2024This electric coffee grinder by Morphy Richards arrived in a branded cardboard box and was held in place with foam and protected with a plastic bag to prevent any scuffs during shipping. The grinder measures 18.2cm in height with a diameter of 10.5cm which fits neatly on my countertop without taking up too much space.
The grinder has a stainless-steel finish to the main body for a modern, sleek look (although bear in mind this can show up fingerprints quite easily) and has a capacity of up 60g of beans which can produce 2-3 cups of coffee from one grind. The best feature about this grinder is and removeable grinding cup which makes both the process of dispensing the grounds easier as well as making the clean-up much simpler.
The clear lid clicks securely into place and the clear lid plastic means that you can monitor the grind level. The grinder will only operate when the lid is locked into place and the button on the front is pressed down continuously. This makes the grinder very safe to operate and I like the simplicity of the design. You can grind beans to ground coffee very quickly and it isn’t overly noisy during operation either.
The ground coffee has a good level of grind throughout and is perfect for refillable pods, cafetières or moka pots. It can also be used for dry ingredients like spices and herbs which is useful, but I wouldn’t suggest mixing with coffee in case it transfers flavours. The 150W power motor delivers a consistent grind, and priced at £24.99 at the time of reviewing, I think that this is a good price given the quality of build and consistent results. It also comes with a 3-year warranty for peace of mind as well.
