This meat slicer is quite flimsy and not at all simple to clean. It does however do the job quite well after practice and you get used to how flimsy the thing is. As you apply slight pressure to the meat against the unit the plastic gives way and the slices are then much thicker than you set the size for, so care is needed. You also can't simply slice away happily as you need to catch each slice with your left hand and therefore have to take your hand off the power switch and grab the slice, alas the switch hand gets very greasy and consequently so does the power switch, messy all round. The unit has to be completely disassembled to clean it sadly.
The up side, it does slice quite well, if you want better performance and design, you will have to part with much more money, therefore, for the price, you get what you pay for and I could not justify paying much more for something that will only get occasional use, so for me if it doesnt fall apart, then I've got what I paid for, and it does the job reasonably well for the price.

This comes with a very poor manual which makes first assembly tricky if, like me you are not very good spatially.
Be aware that the main unit is foldable as shown but you still need room for the pusher and carrier. No matter.. its still quite compact.
I bought it because I make sourdough bread and then each loaf is sliced fresh and the slices wrapped and frozen for daily use. This is a chore which I hoped to make lot easier.
So it does make beautiful regular slices, thinner than I can manage with a knife, so I am very happy with that. Very adjustable too, so dauphinoise potatoes or long strips of aubergine etc will be a breeze. The machine is a bit lightweight so pushing hard can result in a distorted cut.. but its not necessary to push hard.
The only issue is that due to the oval shape of my loaf I have to cut it down the middle for the bread to fit on the carrier at its widest. I make it in y 3l slow cooker so I woukd need a different method in order to make a different shape loaf.
I like the safety button feature but as others have said, when slicing from a rounded shape the pusher needs adjusting regularly and this switches the machine off. I think its worth this minor interruption to keep my fingers safe.
I think its very good value for money.

I have only been using this slicer for a week and so far it is great for slicing bread. I tried it on a small roast and I was in a hurry so I did not get a good feel of how it cut meat but I will keep trying when I have more time. So far very happy with bread slicing results. It cuts even and the bread looks great. I do have a bigger slicer that I use for cutting meat so even if this does not cut meat well I will keep it just to cut bread.
