You can get the same siphon in homebrew shops for a few quid less but having it delivered to your door the next day saves you having to make the journey (if you still have a local homebrew shop). There's nothing fancy or clever about this siphon, the stand off keeps the suction end out of the sediment/yeast and the tap gives you more control and its useful if you are siphoning into different vessels, it also means you don't have to suck on the siphon to start it (just submerge the entire tube in the beer or wine with the tap open to allow it to fill with liquid then lock it in by shutting off the tap and then direct it where it needs to go,open the tap and the siphon will start to flow automatically.
