  Good quality. Unlike some such devices the tap on this one is good and does not drip when closed. Not convinced by the anti-sediment attachment at end of the glass tube - it tends to stir up sediment if it gets moved during the suction process and it holds liquid (wine or sterilising solution, for instance) which then splashes around the work area when removed from jar or barrel. Of course the suction required to start off the syphoning is done by mouth (so watch you don't get a mouthful of steriliser but a mouthful of your new wine is, of course, not to be sneered at!), I have not tried attaching any mechanical aid so cannot say if that would work or not.
