I viewed changing the front wheel bearing on my Suzuki Swift with trepidation. The bearing had been in its housing for seventeen years and like most casual mechanics, I haven't access to a press.....the obvious tool for removing and fitting a new bearing. Therefore this was the reason for purchasing this kit.

The kit comes in its own moulded plastic case and is quite heavy. There are many different sizes of collars and drive plates. The threaded spigot is substantial and the elongated nut requires a large spanner (not included) to pull or press the bearing into place. It's quite straightforward to use and good value for money for what you get. The only downside to its purchase is how many times does one change a wheel bearing? Whatever, I certainly couldn't have done the job without it.

Orion Motor Tech Wheel Bearing Puller Tool Set for Front Wheel Drive Bearing Removal & Installation.
I used this to fit a wheel bearing in my ford fusion 2 rear brake drum.
Even though the bearing is only 53mm, and the smallest plate is about 5 mmm too big.
I used the smaller plate to pull in the bearing flush, the used another bearing to press the new bearing in further allowing the circlip to be fitted.
I used my dugga dugga on it and even thought the bearing was a very tight fit, no damage to the big bolt or washers.
The bearing was put in the freezer the night before, and copper slip was put on the washer and bolt.
The size of the smallest plate is 56 mm just measured with a Vernier gauge.

OK, so I didn't go for the cheapest, but I did receive something cheap. The drifts and spacers are fine, good selection etc. The threaded bolts and nut are extremely soft and poor tolerance (sloppy). The kit comes with two identical bolts, so clearly a known problem! These bolts sheared the threads removing the bearings from a Honda Jazz! So if your planning to use this on just about any car, don't expect it to work.

If you could buy these bolts and nuts separately then it would be not so bad but now the set is partly useless without them. It wouldn’t do another similar bearing.
Id look for a hydraulic version to replace this of at least 10 tons for on car jobs. Or a press maybe 20 tons that would tackle these jobs off car.

Quality of tool is outstanding for the price. Effortlessly pressed out rear wheel bearings on Audi A4 B5 and then pressed new bearings and hub back in. Comes in sturdy case. Those damaged in transit must have had a heck of a journey to the buyer. Lots of different plates, so will no doubt find a use for it again. Mine did come with instructions, but the instructions didn't match any of the engraved plate identifiers in the kit. Wasn't terrible to figure out, but would have gone quicker with proper numbers to get the set up right the first time. Very impressed over all. The bolt to wind the bearings out and in didn't show a scratch at end of the job, but I had followed instruction and slathered it with grease first, which I'm sure helped.

Is it a perfect kit? No, but decent quality and at least for me did the job. If you're used to precision bearing pressing where the bushing is exactly the right OD and the bearing nestles perfectly in the bushing you might find this a bit crude, but it works fine. Good value.

As of April 2020, Orion in their online product details promises a bushing "Q" at 2.32" (58.93mm) OD. When kit arrives, it contains a parts list that doesn't list this item and indeed it's not in the kit; instead the printed list shows (and indeed the kit comes with) TWO identical bushings 2.83" (71.88mm). They're nicely labelled and screened as if they are different (955-13 and 955-14). Perhaps they made too many?

Good quality bushings; may or may not fit ideally for your job, but should be able to find something close enough. While it's nice to use the side that inserts into the bearing to hold it centred, be careful as it's hit or miss whether it'll be the right size and it might get jammed into the bearing. Forcing screw and nut are fine with wrenches and grease; I'd get better ones if you hope to use a power tool. The washers are lame; good enough for awhile and easy to replace, but if you'll do a lot of bearings and live in the rust belt just get a thrust bearing instead of one of the washers and you'll be happier.

Watch out for the bearing collection sleeve size-- on my car it fit too tight and nearly got jammed on the tapered/rusty knuckle. Might have to get creative to avoid a swear-fest.

If you use the instructions, watch out for the drawings-- at least for the Subaru section some of them show the wrong bushings/bushing orientation / wrong knuckle orientation. Use your head.

Part numbers are a bit mixed up; not only are some numbers skipped, but they don't always go up (or get stored in the box) by actual size. The ABCD part system detailed in online product info doesn't match the 8625-XX prod numbers used in the instructions to suggest which bushings/tools to use, and none of this matches exactly the 955-XX product numbers screened on the parts/molded into the slots in the case. Again, you'll have to figure out which are the right parts for your job.

This is a well-made, versatile set of wheel bearing bushings, adapters, and pressing tool that I got for about $30 less than a similar set I was considering from a discount tool retailer whose initials are "HF." I immediately put this set to work to press in a new front wheel bearing on a 2008 Honda Ridgeline. I first had to press the bearing into the steering knuckle, followed by pressing the wheel hub into the bearing. This set worked great and made the job easy!

All of the components in the set appeared to be well finished and shipped with a protective layer of oil to avoid rust. The blow molded case is convenient and sturdy, and the tool components fit well in their designated slots.

I also wanted to make a couple of points about issues other reviewers raised with this set:
1) Using the tool to press in a bearing ruined the threads on the screw -- The key to avoiding this problem is to lube the heck out of the screw each time you use it. I took no chances and used a generous amount of general purpose grease to lubricate the screw, and it showed no damage after the two pressing operations I described above.
2) The adapters and bushings have numbers instead of diameters stamped on them, making it more awkward to figure out what sizes you need for your particular vehicle -- This set comes with a small booklet provides instructions and diagrams for using it on common brands of vehicles. The diagrams include call-outs showing the bushing and adapter numbers you should use, which you can cross-reference with a diagram and parts list for the set on the last page of the booklet. This makes it easy to quickly pick out the right mix of bushings and adapters for your vehicle, and I don't feel it takes any longer than measuring and matching up diameters on your bearing and tool.
