This saw horse with chainsaw holder is designed to make cutting logs easier and safer. It comes with a chainsaw holder that allows you to clamp your chainsaw into the sawhorse, which reduces fatigue and enables you to log for longer periods of time. The chainsaw holder also makes it incredibly safe to use by covering the top of the guide bar and eliminating kickback problems.

The sawhorse has an adjustable measuring bar that ensures you can cut the same depth of log every time, making it ideal for stacking by the fireplace. It folds away for easy storage and is suitable for most small to mid-range chainsaws. A spanner is included to adjust the measuring bar, and the item comes complete with user and assembly instructions.

Very good value and thoughtful design . Takes about an hour to put together , not step by step instructions but an exploded line drawing gives enough information . Only tool supplied is an allen key so you will need a socket and spanner for nuts and bolts . Folds easily for storage . One point to watch - the underside lips of the log plates are quite sharp so would recommend putting something like duct tape along their length or always wear gloves when handling .

The saw horse was reasonably easy to assemble although instructions could be improved (just 1 diagram). Finish is reasonable with a few rough edges. The clamp works well, there is a metal bar included but not mentioned in the instructions that I used to give leverage to tighten the chainsaw clamp. The chainsaw clamp is excellent it really improved my workflow while chopping logs, probably 3x the speed of chopping on the ground. Clamping the chainsaw also means I didn't hold any weight at all so really a great improvement. Delivery was fast and packaging was enough for the product.

I disliked the size of the small clamp used to secure the chainsaw by clamping the bar. This is the only thing used to secure the chainsaw which in my opinion is inadequate as I think the saw will move when running and should have at least one additional clamping piece to secure the chainsaw.

The only instructions are how to fit your chainsaw to it: but luckily there is an exploded diagram, so it is possible to assemble it without instructions. It's fairly intuitive.

It is very sturdy, and stable: I don't understand the reviewers saying it won't fold, because it folds up perfectly. Opening the top trays "locks" the legs in the open position, due to some clever design at the top of the legs. Closing the top trays together allows the legs to pivot together. I have had to use a bungy strap to keep the top trays together, when folded, otherwise they flap open and cause problems when trying to carry or move it.

I sneered at the length adjustment lever, until I started using it: then it became apparent that, with the safety shield over the blade (a fantastic feature, and the main reason I wanted to buy it: so I wouldn't have to put on full PPE just to chop up a couple of logs every so often), you can't see the cutting point. So you just set the length lever to about the right place, and lo! and behold, all the logs come out the same size. Perfect for smaller woodburners, chimineas etc, where you need smaller lengths.

In case you are wondering, that short length of matching tubing, which doesn't seem to do anything, and which does not appear on the exploded diagram, is for tightening up the big round bar-holding nut. I intend to drill a hole in one end of it, and attach it to the frame of the saw horse, because I can see that easily being lost. And it saves having to go and find a long screwdriver to use as a lever: it is utterly impossible to tighten it enough, by hand alone.

So why have I only given it two stars overall? That bar-holding nut: when it's tight enough to hold the saw firmly, it's tight enough to pinch my bar, so the chain can't rotate freely. At least, I can't see any other reason why the chain turns normally when in position but not yet tightened fully: yet when it's tightened, the chain can barely move.

In which case, why do I give it any stars at all? Because I didn't intend to use it with my petrol chainsaw - I bought the saw horse, intending to also buy a cheap little cabled chainsaw to use in it. But I couldn't wait, and tried it out with my petrol saw. Total failure. I am hoping that it works fine with an electric cabled saw. If not - "saw horse for sale, ready assembled!"
