Interference lines, digital noise and purple artifacts. Not up to standards for the price.
I thought I'd digitise some old 70s Kodac Kodachrome 35mm slides and 35mm negatives we had sitting around. Unfortunately, this device did not meet my expectations. There are a few issues:1. Poor settings adjustment - Only R,G,B and brightness offsets can be set. There is no exposure adjustment, meaning some slides are over/underexposed with no possible mitigation.2. In some slides (I'd say 10% of them) there are odd interference lines. You can tell these are related to the device because if you take multiple scans of the same slide, the interference lines move. It seems to be correlated with darker slides. I contacted the seller who informed me there was nothing I could do about this and it was just an inherent problem with the device.3. All photos are affected by an unacceptable level of digital noise. I am not referring to the grain of the slides/film, rather some digital noise introduced from the digital camera.4. The 35mm negative adapter is poorly moulded., the film cannot be easily slid through the scanner Film cannot be slid through the scanner as depicted in the photos because the plastic adapter for this is poorly moulded. The adapter rubs against the film and considerable force is required to push the film through (to the point I was afraid of damaging the film). To mitigate this I had to file down the plastic, which is ridiculous.5. There is no dust/hair correction such as Digital ICE or Canon FARE present on other scanners of similar price, this makes scanning frustrating as you will have to constantly and meticulously clean the slides and scanner glass. My suggestion would be to instead invest in a flatbed scanner with a film and slide adapter. Cheap options include the Epson Perfection V370 (Which can be found for cheaper than this scanner!), if you want even better you can buy a scanner supporting Digital ICE like the Epson Perfection V550/V600/V800 or Canon's FARE like the Canon CanoSCan 9000F.This scanner might be worth it if it cost £30 and you just wanted some quick and easy scans to share on social media, but for a digitising project, the quality is not sufficient.

I thought I'd go for this scanner as I expected / hope for a good quality scanner. The results are OK but not fantastic and there is a focussing issue when older slide have become a little bit bowed. The only bit of the kit that didn't;t work was the HDMI cable - I have no reason to believe that it doesn't work but the cable supplied is a normal size HDMI cable but the socket on the scanner is min-HDMI. Time to spend £7.99 on a converter! I should have ordered one of the cheaper scanners (circa £70) and done a comparison before buying this one.

The device gives reasonable results but there's 2 main problems with scanning 35mm negatives, where usage differs from the manual.
    1. The 35mm negative holder has to be "inserted until there's a click". Even at this point it doesn't line up properly, pressure needs to be exerted on the holder from one side to get it to line up when you scan / capture the image from a negative.
    2. The negative holder, once inserted, should allow 35mm negatives to be fed through as you scan / capture each image on the strip and then the negative removed and another negative strip inserted. The negative holder is clamped quite tight within the device meaning that negative strips can be creased if you try this. The negative holder has to be removed each time you want to advance to the next image on the strip or change the negative strip.
I've ended up not using the negative holder at all and lining up the negative strip within the device by eye. A bit fiddly but much quicker (and safer for my negatives) than using the supplied holder.

Bought this item to scan some old slides, but also with the intention of quickly looking at hundreds of colour negatives which are all haphazardly scattered in envelopes and boxes. It does scan slides some acceptable but poor light slides got major interference lines which showed up not only on the screen but also on the scanned image. The easy feed for the negatives is a load of crap. Mine gripped the negatives so tightly that you needed a pair of grips to pull them through. All the holders are flimsy too. Instruction manual not very clear, I ended up working it all out myself by just pressing the buttons to see what happens. All in all, it does a job I suppose. Not having any other scanner to compare it to I can't say if it's value for money hence the one star. It's saved me sending a load of useless slides off to be scanned at a cost more than the purchase of this scanner so money saved there. I'd probably go for the named Kodak one with hindsight

I purchased this product because it could take several 135 negatives at once and speed things up. But the Negative carrier was badly fitting. It needed considerable force to slide it in. You could see that there was a warp in the carrier and you had to hold it in place.
Also, when you uploaded the photos, it made a directory for each photo and would NOT stop. You had to back it out or it would have filled your PC!
    The results were reasonable.
With the cheapness of construction and the faults, I returned as U/S. You would expect more for over £100.
