The Svbony SV183 IR Pass filter blocks wavelengths below 670nm to enhance contrast and surface detail and reduce the effects of seeing when used in IR-LRGB imaging of the moon and planets.

After using the filter, we can obviously see more details, The filter can darkens the twilight sky background, allowing images of moon and planets to be taken at dawn or dusk.

Multi-coated glass

The SV183 IR Pass 685nm Filter is made with high-end glass that has been multi-coated with an ion-assisted deposition technology to ensure scratch resistance and stability on the central wavelength.

The SV183 uses high-quality coated filters and is made from lightweight, strong metal that is CNC machined, sandblasted, black anodized, and then laser engraved.

What do you get with the SV183 IR-cut filter?

The filter lets you see the Moon and other planets more clearly by blocking some of the glare, sharpening details, and providing the right amount of contrast.

When should you use an IR-Pass filter?

Since CCD and CMOS sensors are sensitive to infrared light, imaging in the infrared will improve your results. Reduce brightness to reasonable levels and see more planetary details by darkening the twilight sky background at dawn or dusk.

What else can it do besides astronomy?

In addition to astronomical uses, IR-Pass filters can be used for near-infrared nature photography, revealing amazing differences in vegetation, sky, and clouds.
