I used a wired connection to the hub, it was detected by HA, the id needed to be entered using the 8 digits on the label on the base in the format XXXXXXXX, not as indicated by HA. It now works with HA and the Android phone app.

There's not much to say about home automation hubs really - you kinda need it whether you wished you did or not really, if you want that brand's equipment to be usable.

I'm using some buttons, the presence detector and the door bell and it all just syncs up and works superbly.

Let's talk about it as a whole system - the app is superb, everything basically just worked out of the box as described pretty much and integration with IFTTT is very good across the entire range of products.

I've not got them working in Home Assistant yet (i'm just getting that installed), but will be doing that at some point and see how I get on, looks like it might work but we'll see - untested at this point.

Definitely recommend Aqara based on what i've used so far - packaging is super, products work well and the app is slick.

The hub seems to work well with the sensors, I’m using it in Homekit which exposes it as a security system with 4 modes (pictured) you have to set up each mode in the aqara app but can trigger other accessories in Homekit when the alarm sounds. The siren is very quiet on the hub so would definitely need additional speakers using an automation - I used a HomePod mini with a siren sound effect I found on Apple Music. My other complaint is that my sensors are already showing at about 70% in Homekit when I’ve only had it around a month. I would recommend this hub to users who want more affordable sensors than other brands especially if using Homekit. The downside is that it is a extra hub to add to your network.

This hub makes a solid connection to my 2.4 gHz WiFi network and provides good coverage.

Most (and so far for me, all) Aqara smart items bridged through it can be addressed in HomeAssistant through the HomeKit integration. No need to bother with Matter - unless you want to. The IR blaster, however, only functions with the phone app and does not expose paired items with HomeAssistant - and that it's only minus in my opinion. However, as I view the IR blaster as a nice bonus, and not core to the product I didn't dock the item a star in my rating. However, if the IR blaster were to be exposed - now, that would be something special!

Devices are easy to set up and this hub performs a good as advertised. It's price point makes it a good choice for any home wanting to add good Zigbee coverage for the Aqara ecosystem. Nice.

Also, note that I run this hub alongside another Zigbee coordinator (a USB stick) and both networks function without issue even though my 2.4 gHz spectrum is pretty saturated with competing networks. Again, nice!

Dans mon logement, le câblage des interrupteurs ne possède pas de neutre ce qui restreint le choix d'interrupteurs compatibles nominalement HomeKit à rien!
Jusqu'ici j'utilise des détecteurs d'ouverture de porte couplés à des ampoules connectées, solution qui ne m'a jamais convenu car :
- cela oblige à utilise des ampoules spécifiques qui coute cher et j'ai eu pas mal de panne même avec de la marque
- si quelqu'un appuie sur l'interrupteur çà coupe l'alimentation de l'ampoule et elle devient inaccessible via les outils domotiques
- si les portes ne sont pas utilisées correctement pour correspondre à la programmation domotique ça devient un vrai casse tête à l'usage
D'un autre côté cela m'embêtait d'ajouter un bridge.
J'ai fini par me laisser tenter et je suis surpris de la simplicité de mise en oeuvre et de la reconnaissance immédiate dans Apple Home.
