Our Activated Charcoal Capsules are derived from Coconut Husks. The charcoal is processed at very high temperatures to ensure it becomes activated. This results in a charcoal that is more porous than regular charcoal as its internal structure is changed and the surface area is increased. Common uses of Activated Charcoal are to reduce gas, stomach aches and bloating. In addition it also contributes towards detoxification from the body, which is why many use it when they have food poisoning or are sick in the stomach. Activated charcoal works by trapping toxins and chemicals in the gut, preventing their absorption. Its porous texture has a negative electrical charge, which causes it to attract positively charged molecules, such as toxins and gases. These toxins bind to the Activated Charcoal and they are carried out of the body.
