I tried to use it without the companies app and it will not work. Technically this product should not be restricted to an app. Its Bluetooth which allows you to hardwire your keyboard and mouse and then transmit the keys via Bluetooth to your android device. Android practically developed Bluetooth with the millions of devices and apps available so to have a device that should technically work but doesn't makes me very nervous.
