Bought to use in my butcher’s shop as a replacement for square,really disappointed with the sum up machine which takes the first payment after turning on then after that keeps asking me to wait after I put amount in but before card is shown to machine then declines payment every time until I restart the machine but still only takes payment on the first time,no good in a busy shop with customers waiting,battery life not brilliant,going back to square payments and would definitely not recommend.

Saw this card machine at another club and the barman was singing it praises. As a consequence bought one for our club but the captain of the club could not programme it and as asked me to return it and get a refund! In no way do I blame SumUp but believe the unit was not faulty just that nobody was sufficiently experienced with technology to programme it. Hence I tried not to rate it before writing this piece.

It seems to take ages to boot up and shut down the touch screen sometimes freezes so it becomes non operational and you have to give it time to sort itself out before it becomes funtional again and shuts down. The receipt roll feed jams up sometimes and the print out of the receipt data is tiny so much so you can hardly read it in comparison to the older model.
The battery runs down really fast even when shut down it only seems to lasts a few transactions.
So keep this in mind if you use it off site or on the road you will require some way of charging this device. In a word its FRUSTRATING for myself and the customer!
TO SUM UP! Bring Back the Older Version or fix these issues SUM UP!

Regularly use SumUp and wanted the printer option but could not get it to work. Solo wouldn’t recognise it was connected to a printer but if it managed to, the printer showed zero battery. I am currently in process of returning it. Have ordered a second one that I really hope works as expected.

SumUp is good and this is the only time I’ve been let down.

Worth trying on Black Friday prices but not full price.
