We breed chickens and have gone through a lot of feeders, etc. We are currently using this one for our younger cockerels and pullets. We started them using it a couple of days prior to moving them out of their brooder and into a pen. We moved it outdoors when we moved them, and it's been doing great. It's exposed to the elements, and it has been through rain and snow as well as direct sun every day. So far, it has not become brittle, etc. The lid comes off easy enough and it has a large opening for filling with food.
It comes with feet to get it off the ground to the perfect height for young chickens. It holds enough feed for about 10-15 chickens for several days. We used the netting as a holder for fruits and veggies hung up in their pen. They actually love it as it always has a treat for them to peck at. It keeps them busy for a while. I have not used the nipples yet, but we already have multiple nipple drinkers and the nipples that come with this look to be as good of quality as our others. For the price, this is a great deal.
