This EMF meter from Proster is well-made from quality material and is pretty good value. It is fast and accurate, quite lightweight but feels sturdy and fits in the hand well. Easy to operate it detects and measures radio, electrical and magnetic fields. It comes with a decent carry/storage bag, a 9v battery and comprehensive, clear, operating instructions. This meter compares most favourably with the professional one which I own and have been using for a couple of years, in fact, I think this Proster 3 in 1 EMF meter is better, yet it is half the price. If you need a decent EMF meter without breaking the bank then I can recommend this. If you’re not sure how to use it or what to use it for then maybe you don’t need it.
Is it any good at finding ghosts? I don’t think so, but that’s probably because ghosts don’t really exist, nor do fairies or aliens from the planet Zog.

Life saver? Dramatic? I WAS going to put some port in my (ok it's the wrong type, but hey) uranium decanter, a little schooner here and there?... I toyed with the idea as people used these things in the 1800s and 1900s right? Thought maybe I'd bring it all out at Xmas? Rig up some UV lights, wine glasses, serving dish...

I'm so glad I didn't!! And I'm so glad I ordered this meter! I won't be drinking from my uranium glassware now! You know, those radons? Radicals? Photons? Could be inside my body not being able to escape?! As expected, when the glass is subjected to the UV light the glass emits radons (?) Upto say '900', but when the lights are turned off, it barely registers and is 'safe'. Brilliant!

So my scientific knowledge in this area leaves something to be desired... but still!

The unit comes with appropriate information on the thresholds and sensitivity etc...

Also, with the uranium the EF suggests avoid, and it's true! The microwave makes the MF and RF go off too! So I guess momma was right, she said, don't stand infront of the microwave (that was in the 80s!). I'll probably stop storing my mobile in my clothing too... I'll measure all that soon also!

As someone who has spent days in an EMC testing lab, costing a grand a day using equipment costing many tens of thousands of pounds, i feel well placed to judge this EMC tester.

The tester itself is nicely made for the price, comes with a handy zipped case and a 9V PP3 battery, which is far preferable to built in rechargeable batteries imo.

This tester is just for fun basically, and couldn’t be used in any meaningful way commercially… but at the fairly modest price, that’s to be expected.

As someone who tests a lot of electrical equipment, i have had a few times in the past where i’ve had equipment affect other equipment… like an LED light that caused my DAB radio to loose reception when it was switched on. This is due to poor electrical noise filtering in the LED light, and would be prohibited largely under CE certification and testing requirements in Europe.

However, equipment from outside the EU has less stringent requirements, let’s be kind and say that, and often EMC filtering, as it can’t really be seen, is ‘overlooked’. This tester will highlight noisy kit, but achieve little more than that.

This Proster EMF (electro magnetic field) detector came neatly packed in strong box complete with protective zipped bag with carry handle, 9v battery and user manual.

Product details and instructions for use enclosed in manual are very clear, descriptive and helpful to user.

The radiation detector size is 6 inches(15cm), feels light in the hand yet strong & sturdy and is designed for manual use in checking your household appliances like microwaves etc. So far buttons feel easy to use and screen can clearly be seen & read. Refer to manual for anything not understood on screen.

If the detector locates any radiation emissions from any appliance it will sound a beeping alert and readings on screen will confirm the rate of that concern. The detailed manual gives instructions for what one should do in that case of alarm.

On reading the manual (and without sounding like an alarmist) it does feel to me like every home should have one of these devices and on a par with having a smoke alarm installed, especially with the multitude of appliances we now have installed in our homes.

I am recommending this radiation detector to everyone I know, family & friends especially those that still use microwaves. Our family stopped using them over 10 yrs ago but I am still interested to check everything else we using, like communication devices, tvs etc and will update this review and its accuracy accordingly.

From what I have read in manual I would strongly recommend this detector to anyone living near power stations & pylons or having any concerns or just for peace of mind.

Appareil reçu sans notice. Difficile d'en faire quelque chose avec juste les quelques spécifications imprimées sur la boite. Quelles fréquences sont-elles prises en compte dans le calcul du champ électromagnétique? La boîte évoque 50Hz-3500MHz. Avec quelle précision? Mystère. La marque, contactée, ne réagit pas à ma demande de manuel/fiche technique. Le vendeur (TIMMEU) a fini par me l'envoyer. Mais... à part la façon de mesurer les valeurs maximales, il n'y a pas grand'chose d'utile dans la notice. Les valeurs mesurées sont purement indicatives, car il n'y a aucun moyen d'avoir des infos pour une gamme de fréquence précise.
