For the price, this is a decent chain breaker and rivet remover. It feels solid and it’s quite heavy too. Dissembles easily, so storage not a problem either. Also included is a spare pin, which is a nice touch.
Using is straight forward and allows for fairly precise pressing in the position required. It’s basic, yes but it does have a hardened steel pin that should push out the pin from your current chain. Furthermore, if you reverse it, you can flatten the pin head that holds together the new chain.
Not sure it’s strong enough for the bigger and stronger chain nor for pushing out the pin without grinding the head first, but this remains unproven at present. Personally, I do prefer a longer handle (this one is removable), which helps me make the task at hand easier !! Above said and done, I will follow up here once I have thoroughly put it through its paces.
Overall, I am quite happy to have this chain breaker especially as a spare, albeit alongside my preferred breaker.
