first of all this is a beautiful looking light strip. the pastel rainbow effect looks truly amazing.
it's very chunky and comes with wall clips for mounting it. i've not used them yet as we have some decorating to do before it can be fully installed in place properly but they seem simple but effective.
setting the light strip up is easy and just plugs into the power adaptor cable and is secured with a captive thumb bolt. some care is needed to make sure pins align exactly before applying the force needed to join them as i can envision it being very easy to bend a pin if not careful even with the alignment slot in the plug. i would have liked a bit more cable length between the unit that houses the physical power button and the IR sensor lead as the light strip is right next to it which limits installation options. perhaps and extension cable is available but i haven't checked.
speaking of the IR sensor. the remote is easily my least favourite part of the design of this. I don't think I be able to recommend this at all if it was the only method of control. thankfully the app and voice control are also available so you can ditch the cheap, slow and ineffective remote.
overall though I do like this light strip. in the right setting i think it will look incredible. i'm excited to keep playing with it to decide on a final place for it in our new decor.
