I've bough this to expand the storage on my new Mac Mini M4 (base model) and it does that very nicely indeed with 2TB Lexar drive installed, 3000MB/s on Blackmagic Design Disk Speed Utility no problem, multiple streams of video going in Resolve and as many audio tracks I can muster in Logic without any glitch, but dear lord this thing is noisy. I've installed the drive correctly with the heat transfer pad in the right place but the teeny little fan has to spin so fast to get any air moving it's quite distracting. Going to have to try a better heatsink on the drive itself and leave the top off the enclosure, failing that it's going into an acoustically damped box slung under my desk to take the edge off it.

I paired this with a 2Tb Samsung 990 Pro, and the aim was to use it with an M4 MacBook Pro as my Time Machine drive. Unfortunately on the first attempt it got very hot, fan running all the time, and it disconnected itself. It was almost too hot to touch the case. Re-connecting it and the backup was completed. I left it connected for a while but the drive remained very hot with the fan continuously running. I disconnected it and allowed it to cool down. On reconnecting it the heat built up very quickly and the fan was running continuously again.
So I packed it up and returned it for a refund.
So back on the search for another NVMe enclosure.

After realising my mac mini M2 with only 256gb does not last 5 minutes when backing up numerous phones & ipads (lol i know!) i needed to work out how to sort as apple do not let you open up & click in extra memory.
Up pops this after researching & all i can say is it works fantastic. I bought this Ugreen case as it is thunderbolt 4 suited & then fitted a 1tb WD850x nvme card. Make sure you get a good ssd as this will also determine the speed it can operate/transfer at etc.
I installed the latest operating system on it & now use that as the mac mini brains & storage. It just boots up from it and away you go. Now i have loads more memory and it works really well/smoothly and fast. Unsure on heavy applications as i am only a light user. But it is a great and very helpful work around & cheaper than apple memory upgrades when you buy the mac mini - brilliant!

The Mac mini M4 makes no noise so this enclosure is the noisiest piece of tech on my desk. I am very happy with these results. I purchased this arrangement to allow me to perform IT testing in a Hyper-V environment. I have yet to set it up, however with these test results it should perform very well.

Previously I was using a SanDisk 1TB Extreme Pro (2000Mbps Read / 2000Mbps Write).

As you can see the new SSD setup is substantially better!

I would highly recommend this enclosure & the Samsung 990 Pro NVMe M.2 SSD combination if you want to utilize the maximum 40Gbps transfer rate (i.e. If your system can support 40Gbps transfer rate, USB4 or Thunderbolt4).

Ma il più limitante, perché l'alloggio inteno del case ospita preciso preciso lo spazio solo un m.2 .
È una scelta del produttore, in pratica un m.2 provvisto di un buon dissipatore, fornito dal costruttore del m 2 stesso....
Potrebbe non entrare nemmeno nello spazio predisposto internamente. Perché c'è meno di mezzo millimetro di larghezza in più, disponibile.
Sia a destra che a sinistra.
Tuttavia il.loro centro assistenza è eccellente e veloce nel rispondere.
Ed effettivamente è molto veloce, nei trasferimenti.
Più di altri 3 cassettini usb 4 che ho comprato e collaudato.
Ottimo prezzo. Valido sconto.
Robusto e sicuro. Peccato nn abbia una ventolina interna....ma almeno nn fa affatto rumore.
