If like me you are using a laptop or mac with only usb c ports, then this is a must have.

It adds 2 usb ports so you can still plug in devices that don't have usb c, like thumb drives or other peripherals like keyboard and mouse.

It does also have 2 usb c ports, so you don't lose a usb c port at all, you gain one infact, as you can charge your device, use a usb c port for whatever and 2 other usb type a.

Sadly you can't use it for a monitor setup as it doesn't support video pass through, but that's ok as i only use it for charging and connect devices.

The charging cable and devices are always connected to this dock and then all i have to do is connect it to my laptop, one simple cable connection and everything else is already to go.

Highly recommend it.

The BENFEI USB C hub does exactly what you'd expect, it plugs in to a computer USB-C port and gives you four more USB ports, 2x USB-C and 2x USB-A. All the ports are capable of 10Gbps data transfer (USB 3.2). I connected this to a MacBook M3 Pro and it makes it easier and efficient to connect multiple peripherals by plugging a single cable in to my laptop. There's no setup or drivers required it's truly plug and play. I have tested with a fast NVMe SSD drive and can certainly attain data transfers in line with the expected 10Gbps rate.

In common with other BENFEI products I have selected in the past this one is well made. There's a nice metallic shell to the adapter, and a braided sleeve surrounds the 20cm long permanently attached cable. The dark gray finish looks great and seems to be rather scratch resistant too. There's even a soft white bag to keep it in if you wish.

It connects to your laptop or mobile device, via a captive 20cm USB-C cable, which has a nice woven sheath, and a metal-clad plug that matches the silver-grey case. I could ramble on about the great build quality of BENFEI products, but suffice to say I’ve reviewed several, and never been disappointed, and, I don’t think you will be either (plus, you have the reassurance of an 18-month warranty).

There are 2 USB-A, and 2 USB-C ports, each capable of up to 10Gbps data transfer speed, which is pretty impressive. Obviously, the performance depends on the device that you are connected to, but it’s backwardly compatible, so no worries there.

I tested it with various USB3.2 flash drives and other peripherals. Needless to say, everything worked perfectly when connected to my Lenovo laptop, but it should work equally well with a tablet or phone. This particular hub doesn’t support HDMI video, so if you need to connect a monitor or projector, then I suggest that you choose one that has a built-in HDMI port (e.g. B0DC73445L).

This is an excellent little hub. It is relatively small. It is finished in a pleasing matallic blue that makes it look modern.

My laptop, which is getting quite old, has more sockets than more modern units but still not really enough for my needs. I notice new laptops are no better, mainly worse actually. This adaptor helps a lot. Ok you use one of your type C sockets but this is replaced with the 2 x type A on the adaptor. You also seem to get 2 x USB type C sockets. I have used these for my keyboard and mouse. I do not have admin rights for my work PC and still had no trouble connecting and using this. I notice these are the faster type of socket so whilst I am not currently making full use of their potential this is useful if I ever do some larger data transfers.

All sockets I have used seem to work fine on my Dell Laptop running windows.

I now have finally got enough PC sockets and if I ever ran out I could even add another one of these.

Useful little adaptor in my view.

I think this is reasonable value for money because individual socket adaptors could add up to more than this.

I've recently purchased some bad hubs, so it was a pleasure to find a high quality hub that functions exactly as advertised and with higher build quality than expected. Due to the quality of the packaging and the extra touch of the velvet bag I also think this hub would make a great gift.

The first thing that I tested was the actual functional speeds of the ports. To conduct the test I connected a Macbook with a Thunderbolt 4 port to a Sandisk Extreme SSD (max speed 1,000 MB/s) using the hub as the interface. The cable used between the SSD and the hub was a 6 inch 20Gbps cable and shouldn't have hindered the speed in any way. I then tested the read and write speed using AmorphousDiskMark. The results are shown in my photo, and the numbers are within 5% of the speeds achieved when the SSD was connected directly to the Thunderbolt 5 port. My guess is that 5% is within a margin of error, and if I had conducted the test multiple times I may have achieved the same results as the direct connection. That is a clear pass in my book. I ran the test through both the USB-C port and the USB-A port, they both achieved excellent results.

The quality of the housing, appearance of the hub, the braided cable, and everything about it speak to its quality. I am hoping that the internal components are of the same quality as everything I can see and touch, and with that hope this is now my everyday hub. My last hub was still going strong after 4 years when I replaced it with this one, and if it proves to have the same longevity I will be very happy. I will update my review down the road if anything goes amiss, and hopefully to report on the good durability of this hub.

An meinem PC lief stattdessen alles hochgeschwindig und wie in Butter. Also schloss ich, ein vernünftiger mit USB-C 3.2-Standard ausgerüsteter Adapter muss her. Zum Testen gab es nur diesen, also habe ich diesen gewählt. Er verspricht satte 10 Gb Datenübertragungsleistung, verteilt auf zweimal USB-A 3.2 und zweimal USB-C 3.2. Zum Schluss noch: ausnahmsweise ist die mitgelieferte charakterstark bis sanfte Tasche mal wirklich richtig geil.

¿Más allá de especificaciones, qué debes saber antes de comprarlo?

Lo principal: Aunque el fabricante diga que no admite carga, sí que la admite, sin hacer ningún truco ni nada raro, no sé por qué dice el fabricante que los usb-c de salida no emiten carga cuando no solo emiten, sino que dan hasta TurboPower a mi motorola motoG54. Puedes ver en la captura de mi móvil que he subido el iconito de turbopower y el mensaje de carga junto al menú de transferencia de datos.

Dicho lo anterior y antes de nada: Como ocurre con cargadores, cables, etc. todo lo que tenga que ver con dispositivos de tipo usb está sujeto a que todo el entorno cumpla sus especificaciones para evitar cuellos de botellas: Por ejemplo, no le puedes pedir que te dé el máximo rendimiento si lo conectas a un puerto usb 3.0 y no 3.2. O si tu pc sí tiene puerto usb 3.2 pero le has conectado un adaptador usb-c/usb-a que es 3.0.

No obstante, por el precio que tiene, me parece un fabuloso HUB de datos Y CARGA, independientemente de que hoy en día lo vayas a conectar a un usb de estándar inferior (ya lo tienes por si el día de mañana cambias de pc). Concretamente, perfecto para destinarlo a la conexión de discos duros, pendrives o lectores de tarjeta que cumplan el estándar usb 3.2. Para conectarle un teclado y un ratón claro que te vale, pero quizá deberías buscar opciones más económicas, puesto que esos periféricos funcionan hasta con estándar 2.0.

Sobre el hub en sí:
- La construcción es excelente: Carcasa metálica y cable trenzado con una longitud de cable perfecta (20 cm) para poder tener margen de ubicación y movimiento por el escritorio, pero sin que sobre cable que aporte maraña al escritorio.
- La presentación, además, incluye una funda de tela superelegante y perfecta para protegerlo si tu idea es llevarlo en el maletín del portátil.
- 10 Gbps de velocidad: Ojo, lo digo siempre al valorar este tipo de datos, hablamos de Gigabits (Gbps con la 'b' minúscula), no Gigabytes (GBps con la 'B' mayúscula). Haciendo la conversión, se nos queda en más de 1000 Megas por segundo, una locura (aunque, como siempre, suelen 'perderse' algunos megas entre lo teórico y lo práctico, y se te quedarán en unos 600-800 megas dependiendo de la calidad de los cables y destino que uses).
- Tamaño minimalista, es increíble lo pequeño que es.

En definitiva, lo recomiendo para quienes quieren tener un elemento fijo en su escritorio destinado a trabajar con transmisión de datos a muy altas velocidades (sobre todo discos SSD), pero también para quien simplemente necesite un hub de puertos usb aunque ahora mismo no vaya a sacarle todo el provecho del mundo porque no disponga de puertos 3.2 en su equipo. Por su tamaño, además, es perfecto si tu necesidad es llevarlo como accesorio de tu maletín de trabajo.

- Me gusta escribir opiniones que informen de algo más que las especificaciones que cualquiera puede leer en esta misma página.
- Solo pido productos Vine cuando los voy a usar personalmente o como regalos, y si el producto es malo, tengo cero problemas en puntuarlo como merece y decirlo, puesto que mi tiempo vale más que un producto que me haya hecho perder el tiempo con entrega y escribiendo la opinión y por el que, además, estoy sujeto a tributos.

Un hub USB serve sempre, perché ormai sui laptop e mini-pc le porte USB non sono mai abbastanza.
Cosa ha questo hub di diverso? Si collega al pc via usb-C e garantisce la massima velocità dello standard usb3.2 (10gbps), senza colli di bottiglia tipici dei generici collegamenti usb3.
Le porte sono 4, una coppia del tipo usb-A, una coppia usb-C.
Il cavo, robusto e flessibile, è sufficientemente lungo per non intralciare la scrivania, consentendo di tenere i collegamenti dietro il laptop.
Ad un livello superiore, c'è solo il collegamento usb4/TB4 che arriva a 40gbps, ma questa è un'altra storia....
