45W Lamicall Car Lighter Plug Socket – Excellent Build Quality & Charges Devices as Expected

This car lighter plug socket arrived in a branded cardboard box and the charger was protected within a frosted plastic bag inside to protected against scratches. The charger is compact in size and features a small D shaped pull handle, making it easier to pull out of the socket when required. This is an appreciated design element as the charge does sit flush in the lighter port and would be difficult to remove otherwise.

The dual USB-C and USB-A ports offer good compatibility for charging a range of devices from your car providing you have the correct cables (which you will need to provide yourself) and you can charge two devices simultaneously with this charger. The charger utilises the power from the car’s battery and outputs 45W of fast charging power to the USB-C port and the USB-A port when used individually. However, bear in mind that when used together the power will be shared between the ports and the charging will not be as fast.

The charger is well built with a solid metal construction and is easy to store in your glove box whilst not in use due to its compact size (about 44mm in length). The device is lightweight and so far, has performed well. It also gives peace of mind that the charger provides intelligent protection against overloading and overheating too. However, it is worth mentioning that it doesn’t have any indicator light to show that the charger is working / outputting power which I feel is a missed opportunity.

Priced at £16.99 (with an additional 5% off voucher valid until the 19th January 2025) at the time of reviewing, this is a good quality car charger that has the ability to charge multiple devices at the same time and has an excellent metal build quality. I would be happy to recommend this in car charger.

It fits perfectly into the 12v port with no rattling around, works as intended and charges at a decent speed.

On first getting this I tried it out in a mains-powered transformer with a 12V 5A ‘lighter’ socket output (for 12V fridges) and it did not work at all. Presumed it was a dud but then tried it in the car to see how neat it might be, and it worked! Also tried it in the 12V socket of a car battery booster and it worked there too but then used a 5 metre ‘lighter’ socket extension lead and it did not work in that. 2 other chargers worked everywhere. The problem seems to be that in order for it to sit with little or no protrusion, it is shorter than other similar devices and plugs, so the central contact cannot reach down far enough in longer sockets.
It certainly is aesthetically good, sitting almost flush and at least in my car it connects firmly and does not pull out when cables are removed. There is a neat little handle that unobtrusively folds down to facilitate removal of the charger from the socket.
The total shared output is stated to be 45W max with that maximum available from just one (either) output and only if charging at 15V or 20V. At 5V, 9V and 12V it is 15W, 27W and 36W respectively. In addition, it appears from the writing on the device and on its box that when both outputs are used together the total output is limited to 5V, 4.8A (24W). I was unable to confirm that.
Overall, I like this particularly due to its neatness and it is now permanently in the car, with a spare handy in the glovebox.

My first reaction was that the price seemed a bit high for a cigarette lighter charger but on unpacking the charger I realised why. The look and feel of the charger are top rate. It's small and fits into the socket very discretely. In operation it really does fast charge. I can't praise this charger highly enough.

I only use the usb c port but I do like that it has a USB A port which means you can use it for a variety of things, the design of the plug is really nice, all metal which gives it a premium feel, it also has a ring that makes it easy to pull, I like these much better than the ones without where you have to pull on it.

I love the way this USB charger fits flush into the cigarette lighter. The charging is superfast with the superfast cord that I already have. I tend to take a lot of road trips so a car charger is a necessity for me. This particular charger works great to fast charge my Pixel 7 Pro. Just to note that the holder broke from the charger when it fell on the floor which shows it is very flimsy in nature. Otherwise, a good one.

Auspacken, einstecken, läuft – mehr kann ich nicht schreiben, denn so einfach ist es. Aufgrund der kurzen Baulänge schaut der Adapter nur kaum aus dem Zigarettenanzünder heraus. Damit er beim Herausziehen gut zu greifen ist, gibt es einen ausklappbaren Ring – sehr praktisch! Super auch, dass der Ladeadapter über zwei Buchsen verfügt: 1x USB-C und 1x USB-A. So bin ich für alle Fälle gut ausgestattet. Die Ladefunktion klappt zu 100% mit meinem Samsung-Handy. Und auch meine Dashcam wird gleichzeitig stabil mit Energie versorgt. Perfekt! Da vergebe ich gerne die vollen fünf Sterne.

Lieferumfang:
Die Lieferung besteht allein aus dem USB-Auto-Adapter. Kabel sind keine dabei.

Anleitung:
Die Bedienung ist intuitiv „Einstecken & fertig“. Daher ist es kein Problem, das eine Anleitung nicht bei liegt.

Bedienung & Funktion:
Der 12V/24V USB-Ladeadapter wird in die Buchse für den Zigarettenanzünder gesteckt. Anschließend können über die USB-Buchsen Geräte geladen werden. Über die USB-C Ladebuchse kann mit PowerDelivery/PD geladen werden, über die USB-A Ladebuchse QuickCharge/QC. In meinem Test bin ich bei rund 42 Watt max. Ladeleistung bei einem Tablet gekommen.

zunächst vorab: Ich verzichte bei meinen Rezensionen auf den Einsatz von KI, ebenso wie auf das Einstellen von Fotos und die Wiederholung der Artikelbeschreibung, wenn diese in meinen Augen ausreichend ist bzw. die Fotos dem Artikel entsprechen. Hier ist dies der Fall!

Für den Zigerettenanzünder im Wohnraum unseres Wohnmobiles suchten wir einen solchen Adapter, der nicht so klobig ist und dennoch 2 Steckplätze hat. Und so wurden wir hier fündig. Das Ladegerät funktioniert einwandfrei und sieht dabei noch gut aus. Da wir ihn nicht oft entfernen müssen wäre für uns der kleine "Haltering" nicht nötig gewesen aber ich finde es trotzem sehr praktisch. Klare Kaufempfehlung!

Sollte mir später noch irgendein Mangel auffallen oder ich meine Beurteilung ändern wollen, werde ich entsprechende Anpassungen vornehmen.
