With an asking price at the time of writing of £160, I was expecting to plug this and go, not to have to assemble it and provide my own tools. You'll need a Philips #2 screwdriver to attach the weighted base plate using the included bolts and washers, and again to attach the cord strain relief. Lining the bolts, weight, decorative base and threaded holes all at once is a bit of a pain.
Once constructed, the heater is fairly easy to use. Turn on the big power switch at the back, then either use the basic remote or the touch screen controls to take it out of standby mode and select your heat level. It warms up quickly and is noticeable at 3m distance in my freezing cold office, even on the lowest setting.
Build quality could be better. In addition to the aforementioned self assembly, the screen came pre-scratched as the protective sticker was only a tiny sticker at the top with warnings on. For something to be used outside, the IP25 rating seemed a bit low.
The swivel function gives around 90° of movement. It pauses at the end of travel for several seconds; long enough to make you wonder if it is stuck, but then it does move again.
