The OEM batteries from Sony for my camera are almost £70 each, so when I saw this Neewer option where you get 3 batteries and a charger for just a little bit more, ny interest was piqued. The issue I've often had with third party batteries is where the camera software doesn't recognise the batteries and you lose some of the functionality that the camera offers.
The capacity of these batteries is quoted as 2280mAh which is the same as the OEM batteries from Sony, thats a good start. I've run a comparison between the orognal Sny battery in my camera and one of these replacements and at this time I look to get over 600 shots from a charge on both batteries so that's a second tick in the box.
The next question is whether the camera recognises the battery. I've had no issues with any of the three batteries and just ran a firmware update and the batteries are still happily recognised.
All in all then the batteries are a great replacement for the OEM battery, hold just as much charge and are recognised by the camera. Three batteries are slightly more expensive than one single OEM battery and the charger provides simple charging on the go. You can even plug it into a powerbank if you have one that's large enough.
All in all a good purchase and I now have less anxiety abut running out of batteries on a longer shoot.
