- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 12 August 2024This wine rack arrives in a easy to recycle cardboard box. It's well made from a MDF like material with a thicker than usual 'formica' style coating. The optics and upright support bar being made from plastic and metal.
With the former working well enough and delivering what appears to an accurate measure. Plus it assembles quickly and easily enough. Literally requiring not much more than a PZ2 screwdriver, though once assembled it is heavy.
Heavy enough that I didn't trust hanging it using the two holes in the back panel. Instead using three picture frame hooks (not included) on the rear of the top shelf. Once assembled it seemed to take the weight of a few glasses and jars happily enough.
It's not overly long either, so it doesn't need a lot of space. Though, as my better half kept pointing out, you can't escape the 1980's MFI flat pack feel with this one. Not something she wanted in our more modern kitchen, hence it was vanquished to the workshop.
Where it now does a sterling job of holding tools and glue tubes. Overall ? If you're looking for something nicely solid and secure, this does the job and does it well. Though, as with all things, beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
