On initial inspection the clamp appears to be of a solid construction and well built, time and use will determine overall quality. For basic photography purposes it is perhaps over engineered in that it sports a large number unnecessary 1/4” tapped holes among others where a single hole would suffice, and it is on the larger side for todays modern mirrorless and smaller DSLR cameras. The clamp works well with my Smallrig L bracket and other Arca Swiss plates I have on other cameras I use with only a little adjustment necessary and provides a solid clamping force once adjusted using the supplied allen key. There are only 2 down sides. First of all I would have expected a locking mechanism of some sort so that the clamp is less likely to be released accidentally. This is slightly offset by the nature of the design of the lever lock itself which in my case with the L bracket tucks itself around the edge of the clamp and sits tightly against the base of the bracket when closed thus reducing access to the lever and making it slightly more difficult to be accidentally released. Secondly for those using multiple cameras with this clamp the need for an allen key to adjust the clamp jaw size is likely to be an inconvenience. These two draw backs knocks off a star in the value for money rating as even my significantly less expensive Andoer lever bracket has a locking mechanism and built in adjuster at a third of the cost of the Smallrig unit, although perhaps not as sturdily built.
