My laptop has only 3 USB2 ports and one USB-C port, so this adaptor gives me two extra USB2 ports and one high-speed USB3 port.
I am pleased that the adaptor reliably meets the published specifications. I particularly like the button that allows you to blank the HDMI port, such as during presentations, which is something I haven't seen before.
A few minor niggles:
• There are no instructions supplied, apart from what is written on the box;
• The USB3 port is not marked as such on the adaptor;
• Import safety compliance label was stuck over the diagram identifying all the functions
• HDMI on/off button is only labelled in chinese on the box, so needed a phone camera to translate it;
Overall, I am very happy with this most useful adaptor.
