I've always had a scanner, and with the newer Windows 7 OS rendering the software for it all but obsolete, I wanted a decent slim scanner compatible with that, and this looked a good choice at a good price.
My previous scanners were rather bulky heavy objects, although produced good quality scans, with good software and options.

I was surprised at how small/slim and light this was. It looks the size of an A4 document folder as I turn my head and cast my eyes lovingly towards it on the chair as I write this review.

I installed the software first as per instructions, and previous reviews, and initially I was slightly dismayed at being unable to launch the programme (MP navigator EX4) for it, and it gave a dialogue box alerting to that, but that was not the fault of the item or the software ~ once I had then connected the scanner to the PC with the singular USB lead, it obtained the relevant driver(s) via Windows, and all was well.

Scans were of good image and colour quality, with a choice of resolutions up to 600dpi. I'd had some old photo's of myself, family and relatives that I had wanted to digitise and post on facebook etc., but was unable to previously with the obsolete OS software for my existing quality scanner.

I wouldn't say this was noisy at all, and the higher dpi scan the quieter it is. Easy cropping of images for subsequent editing on third party software (I use Photoshop CS6 (that I also got from ��غ��)) whereby further quality enhancements can be applied.

For me, this unit is predominantly for quality photo scans, and it provides me with that. There are options for Photo, Black & White, Colour Magazine, text etc. Enough to cover all my needs. I also love the singular USB lead that 'does all' including powering the unit.

I have not utilised the OCR and other functions, so can't comment on those yet, but will do in due course to test it out and provide an update here.

Very pleased indeed in many respects, highly recommended!

PS - the bit up there that says "casting my eyes lovingly at it" was tongue in cheek to add some humour to the review :D

I love this Scanner. Well, as much as one can love an inanimate object!

I really needed an A3 capable scanner, but I couldn`t afford a quality big A3 scanner. I was also used to an older A4 scanner that for the price I paid (?100 a few years ago) was such a hassle just to do the basic stuff I wanted.

But technology sure has improved; it`s gotten smaller, cheaper and able to do more faster.

It arrived safely and neatly packaged. When plucked out it proved very small and flat compared to my huge previous Scanner. Just slightly larger than a thicker A4 book.

It was easy to set up. No mains, just a USB chord attachment to the PC. I used to be really iffy about attachments without a dedicated mains, but I I need not worry. I installed the Drivers (before attaching the chord) then connected everything. The Scanner quickly whined into life and I preceded to test.

I do a lot of artwork (black and white and colour) and while it only appears to go as high as 600 DPI it did a great job of replicating the images great. Certainly good enough for me to use and send to clients over the net! I then decided to test of scanning A3 artwork, something really important and why I bought this scanner. Can it do a good job?

You need to pick the A3 Stitch-assist mode. the Scanner will scan one part then instruct you to attach the next part. After scanning, it`ll present you with a screen that helps you join the two parts PERFECTLY togther. It works extremely well and needs only a little patience which you should have if you want your work to come out whole! It does a good job of the resolution although I found I needed to use photoshop to just darken things a little to real life level. Save on you PC and your oversized pic can be reprinted or sent out online.

It`s fast, even from a cold start (my old one took ages to warm up). It can be set flat or standing sideways to save space. I thought being powered just by USB would cause problems but I have had none in months of using this.

I have had no problems at all with this. It`s perfect for what I need although I wish it could do A2 and A1!! Really, it`s brilliant. 5 stars.

Necesitaba un esc��ner que no ocupara mucho espacio para casa, y con este canonscan del 2010 me he llevado una grata sorpresa al ver la calidad de imagen que ofrece. En la oficina tenemos un esc��ner Epson profesional V700, fotogr��fico (de m��s de 500�), y este peque?o esc��ner no tiene nada que envidiarle, absolutamente nada. He hecho varias pruebas comparando calidades, y sinceramente, no me esperaba que por las diapositivas el epson cueste tan caro (y encima es un armatoste).

Con este canon tenemos calidad profesional de escaneado para documentos y fotos por un precio buen��simo (72�). La funci��n de destramado, correcci��n de imagen y eliminaci��n de polvo y ara?azos funcionan muy bien, los resultados son profesionales. Otra cosa que me ha gustado much��simo es que el tama?o de escaneado es tambi��n autom��tico, es decir, si metemos una foto con unas dimensiones determinadas o un A4, autom��ticamente se nos detecta el formato, por lo que no tenemos que recortar ni previsualizar nada. Para estar escaneando un mont��n de documentos es genial, y encima a 300ppp lo hace todo muy r��pido como bien anuncian.

El software que trae, MP navigator EX 4.0 y scangear son muy completos, con opciones para todo. Podemos escanear en modo autom��tico pulsando un bot��n (como con las c��maras digitales, que detectan las condiciones optimas) o simplemente hacerlo en modo avanzado, en el que podemos crearnos distintas configuraciones y as�� obtener distintos resultados, con igual o mayor calidad. Como nota, he de decir que hay que bajar de la p��gina web de canon los drivers y el ultimo MP navigator EX, los que trae el CD que viene con la caja son del 2010 y los de la web de finales del 2013. Uso Windows 7 64 bits y ning��n problema, tenemos soporte WIA/TAWAIN.

Lo que no me ha gustado mucho es el OCR de este esc��ner, s��lo tiene para salida a texto en formato .txt y verdaderamente no est�� a la altura de otros modelos m��s caros. No es para nada ��til.

Por otro lado, el que no necesite cable de alimentaci��n ni haya un adaptador de corriente lo hace id��neo para tener un escritorio limpio y ordenado. Lo puedes poner en vertical para que ocupe menos espacio o incluso lo puedes meter en un caj��n junto a la pila de folios si no lo usas. Este esc��ner es peque?��simo y pesa muy pero que muy poco.

Como curiosidad, al escanear, el ruido que hace es como si estuviera rascando algo. He usado much��simos esc��neres y es la primera vez que escucho un funcionamiento as��.

En resumen, si buscas un esc��ner plano para documentos, dibujos, fotos, revistas y libros, este modelo es una de las mejores opciones calidad/precio.

Si buscas un esc��ner para OCR, olv��date de este modelo. Y lo mismo si lo quieres para diapositivas, ya que esas son dos cosillas por las que nos cobran bastante m��s.

Ho comprato questo scanner per sostituire quello integrato nella mia vecchia stampante che non funzionava pi��. L'installazione �� stata rapida e ha funzionato tutto correttamente; la funzione copia che permette con un solo tasto di seguire la scansione e stamparla con la stampante di default collegata al computer �� proprio quello che mi serviva. Anche i tasti per creare un unico PDF unendo diverse scansioni raddrizzabili automaticamente dal software sono molto comodi, e grazie al software Canon i tasti possono essere "riprogrammati" secondo le proprie esigenze.

Nell'uso quotidiano va alla grande, l'unico "difetto" che ho riscontrato �� l'impossibilit�� di eseguire scansioni in A4 a 4800 dpi, col software Canon il limite �� quasi sempre 600, solo nelle impostazioni avanzate sono riuscito a scegliere 1200 dpi, mentre per i 2400 la risoluzione non compare in elenco e va inserita manualmente; si pu�� arrivare a 2400 dpi anche usando il software integrato in OS X. I 4800 dpi sono presenti nelle opzioni di scansione di OS X ma a quella risoluzione la scansione non parte restituendo un errore, mentre provando la stessa risoluzione dalle impostazioni avanzate del software Canon si viene informati che �� "Impossibile eseguire la scansione finch�� le dimensioni ritaglio, il formato stampa o la risoluzione di output non vengono ridotti a 21000 x 30000 pixel o meno e le dimensioni dati non sono pari o inferiori a 1.8 GB." Secondo le mie prove i 4800 dpi funzionano solo se la scansione �� di un foglio di massimo 10x10 cm circa. Va detto che un A4 a 4800 dpi peserebbe diversi GB e sarebbe molto difficile da gestire per la maggior parte dei programmi, perci�� sarebbe quasi inutilizzabile (ecco perch�� ho dato 5 stelle, questo "difetto" �� insignificante); se per�� per esigenze particolari si volesse eseguire una scansione A4 a 4800 dpi questo prodotto non pu�� farlo.

Il rumore potrebbe essere fastidioso per alcuni, anche se per me �� tollerabile senza problemi. La scansione a 300 dpi richiede davvero 10 secondi, ho fatto una prova cronometrata e ci ha messo 9,7 secondi. Le dimensioni compatte e il fatto che sia autoalimentato via USB lo rendono ideale per portarlo in giro o riporlo in un cassetto e usarlo rapidamente all'occorrenza.

In sintesi �� un ottimo prodotto, il software �� davvero curato e ricco di funzioni e opzioni sia per Windows che per Mac (supporta ufficialmente anche OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion e stando alle mie prove funziona senza alcun problema anche su OS X 10.9 Mavericks); inoltre ho contattato l'assistenza Canon via email per un mio problema e sono stati davvero veloci e competenti nel rispondermi.

Vor kurzem habe ich ��ber ��غ�� den Lide 210 gekauft. Der Artikel kam ordentlich verpackt und unbesch?digt nach einigen Tagen an.

Gekauft habe ich ihn f��r den h?uslichen "B��robetrieb". Auswahlkriterien waren der gute Preis, die technischen Vorz��ge (vor allem die M?glichkeit zur unproblematischen Bildung einer Datei aus mehreren gescannten Bl?ttern). Die Bewertungen bei ��غ�� haben mir einen guten Anhalt geliefert, diesen Scanner auszuw?hlen. Die guten Bewertungen kann ich nur best?tigen.

Als nichttechnischer Mensch war mir die schnelle Installation und die schnelle Ingebrauchnahme wichtig (die Tipps aus den Bewertungen habe ich dann ber��cksichtigt). Nach der einfachen Standardinstallation habe ich das Ger?t mit dem unterseitigen Schiebeschalter entsperrt und ��ber USB angeschlossen. Es war umgehend einsatzf?hig.

Nach dem ?ffnen des Men��s habe ich einfach die Tasten am Ger?t bedient. Die ganz links stehende Taste ?ffnete die Datei. ?ber eine Einblendung im Men�� konnte ich dann den Scanvorgang ausl?sen und so auch mehrere Bl?tter jeweils scannen. ?ber diese Einblendung oder die zweite Taste von links am Ger?t konnte ich die Datei schlie?en. Im sich aufblendenden Men�� konnte ich die Datei dann auch gleich umbenennen. Von dort habe ich mir die gebildeten Dateien dann jeweils dorthin kopiert, wo ich sie brauchte. Die Scangeschwindigkeit ist wie schon von anderen beschrieben, recht gut (nat��rlich nicht so schnell wie auf dem gro?en B��rokopierer). Die Qualit?t der aufgerufenen wie auch der ausgedruckten Scans ist ordentlich.

Angenehm finde ich die Funktionen, die gebildeten Dateien bearbeiten zu k?nnen, also etwa einzelne Scans wieder aus der Datei entfernen zu k?nnen oder die Dateigr??e bearbeiten zu k?nnen. Sehr gut auch die Stromversorgung ��ber das USB-Kabel. Das Ger?t ist sofort einsatzbereit nach dem Anschlie?en.

Das Ger?t ist eher leicht. Die Klappe ist vom Material her nicht so stabil. Ich h?tte Bedenken, was geschieht, wenn die Klappe, die keinen Widerstand beim Schlie?en sp��ren l?sst, mal aus der Hand rutscht. Eine bessere Qualit?t erwarte ich in dieser Preisklasse aber nicht wirklich, so dass ich die h?chste Bewertung nicht deswegen abwerten m?chte.

F��r meinen Bedarf (B��romensch erwartet zu Hause eine brauchbare b��ro?hnliche Scanqualit?t) reicht das Ger?t v?llig. Die Auswahl dieses etwas teureren Ger?ts von Canon (es gibt ja auch noch eine g��nstigere Variante dieses Herstellers) hat sich wegen der Zusatzfunktion f��r die Bildung der Mehr-Seiten-Dateien f��r mich gelohnt.

Insgesamt absolut eine Kaufemfpehlung.
