This is a well manufactured piece of kit - as I've come to expect from Smallrig. Every piece of hardware I've had from Smallrig has been excellent.

This works really well, it's secure at both ends and hold a camera securely whilst attached to the gimble. It's really to to pop your camera on and off with this, however I have quite a few arca-swiss plates and this is only compatible with the plate this comes with. Ideally I'd like universal compatibility with any such plate but that's not the case.

So this - as a set works brilliantly, but it would have been nice if it was more universally compatible.

Plus the build quality is second to none, my experience with SMALLRIG is once you have something you have it for life unless you really abuse your equipment.

Superb quality with it's almost all metal construction.

The mounting plate fit securely onto my Sony A7IV SmallRig cage (though I did have to remove one of the screws due to my cage layout) but the guard on the plate kept it aligned.

The main plate worked well with my DJI RS3.

So all in all, I'm very pleased.

I use the RS3 Pro and having this spare quick-release plate for my other camera bodies is so convenient. I love how solid the release plate locks in place and is still very easy to release when I want to go straight to tripod, monopod or handheld. It has the fine tune adjustment gears underneath making it easy to balance just like the stock one from dji. Smallrig gets it right every time.

I've been very happy with this Quick release plate adapter from SMALLRIG. It comes well packaged and feels very high quality in hand, with an all metal make that's very precise. The included QR plate slides in and out with a small amount of resistance. *Note that for this particular model, this is only compatible with the included SMALLRIG specific QR plate, though the plate itself is ARCA compatible. This has additional locking points which make it extra secure. This attaches very securely, and makes swapping between my regular tripod and my gimbals much easier. Overall a solid option for the price, 100% would recommend!

In case you did not notice upfront, the plate is medium grey, it looks black in the first image because of the greyed out gimbals, but is definitely grey when you look at the other pictures. Sometimes, the brain sticks with the first impression this is why I mention this.

I checked a couple of QR system and most have the same compatibility pattern, which is mentioned in the description. The plate fits on standard Arca Swiss bases, but the base only accepts the specific H38 plates. This specific one is average as there is a small loose that remains in the mount. All other QR that I have seen don't allow for movement at all. You need to depress the button to slide the camera in, while most QR simply clicks in.

The plate has some level of configuration, you can easily remove the black anti twist stopper. You can also select one of 2 screws, change the locking screw position to change entry direction.

The finish is good, a nice anodize aluminum. The screws accepts flat head screwdriver only.
