Compatibility: for DJI RS 2/RSC 2/RS 3/RS 3 Pro, Ronin S, for ZHIYUN 2S/3S, for Moza Air 2, AirCross 2. Please make sure the models before purchasing.
FUNCTION: Counterweight Kit is used with the Manfrotto quick release plate with stabiliser to support levelling of heavier front units.
Assembly: with the thumb screws, you can mount the counterweight kit at the end of the Manfrotto quick release plate. There are also many 1/4 threaded holes at the bottom, so you can install several counterweights.
Easy to disassemble: you can quickly dismantle the kit. The knob is locked for quick disassembly and assembly, which is time-saving.
Design: the counterweight kit has the same design as the gimbal. The design fits the gimbal best.

This is a well made and extremely useful accessory, and a must have for me. I was able to balance my GH-5 with a telephoto lens on mr Ronin RSC2 gimbal and end up with a neat solution without tacking on weights here there and everywhere. I have many Smallrig accessories and depend on them in rigging my cameras.
If a smaller 50gm weight was also included it would rare 5+.

Archimedes said "give me a long enough lever and a fulcrum and I will move the world. It's pretty obvious he had a BMPCC 4k with the Sigma 18-35 and a speed booster. It is a classic set up after all and a total pain to balance.

When it comes to Gimbals the camera and lens are the levers and the effect of sliding the Camera Plate forward or back is to take weight from one side of the balance and add it to the other side. The further out on the axis the weight, the greater its effect. Which is why it often feels like it's on a knife edge and just a microscopic position change will make it front or back heavy .

Smallrig make another set of Gimbal counter weights but they are designed for the elbow of the gimbal arm. How do they compare? This set easily wins.

With a Gimbal you need static and dynamic balance, What it means in practice that the further out the weight is the greater its effect on dynamic stability. This counterweight adds weight at the core where its needed, unlike the earlier model and its way easier to fine tune the balance. Because the balance is done near the core, the gimbal performs better.

It's a rather clever design for both static and dynamic balance isn't it, well thought out.

I bought this product for my Zhiyun Weebill S because it mentioned that gimbal in the ones it would work on but the lever to adjust the rotation axis gets in the way so it won't go all the way in. It does fit on to the plate but you can't move the plate forward or backward if you want to balance the tilt axis. But otherwise because it is Smallrig, the quality is as always really good but maybe a bit misleading to say that it does fit the Zhiyun Weebill S when it doesn't really work unless you modify the gimbal.
