Well I bought it 3 weeks ago and 1000 sheets scanned so far and I am very happy. It scans a 100+ sheets at a time, no issues.

It even handles water damaged documents without too many issues our offices were destroyed by a tornado a year ago, and I have still managed to scan in the water damaged documents.

Wish I had done this before.

As others have said the installation of the software/scanner was faultless, and dead easy. I would highly recommend this for scanning large amounts of documents.

I’ve had ScanSnaps before and this model has the added functionality to choose the destination of scans whether to Evernote or to a folder e.g. my desktop. It scans fast enough for me and has a small footprint. The software for handling scanned documents does what I want.

The only pain I find is if I try to use it wirelessly. Sometimes it’s fine; other times a scan will hang after a few sheets have been fed through and I get a ‘Processing…’ message on the ScanSnap’s screen. At that point I can either wait, paint a wall in the house and watch the paint dry, or shut down the ScanSnap and try again. Fujitsu’s fix (that works) is to connect the ScanSnap to my computer using a USB cable. I looked online to see if others had experienced scans hanging during processing and was amused to see the problem was apparent even 5 years ago.

Anyway, apart from this annoyance, the ScanSnap does the job and I’m happy to award 4 stars (one deducted for the issue I’ve described).

This is a very capable and easy-to-use scanner. The control panel is clear and easy to use. You can scan several double-sided pages in seconds, and it was delivered to a city of different destinations, including Dropbox and OneDrive and Google Drive. The accompanying software comes in both Windows and Mac versions and is intuitive, giving you tidy images with no blank pages. If you want to go 'paperless' or clear a backlog of paperwork, I recommend the Scansnap ix1600. You can have multiple profiles for other users or family members. I've had mine a couple of weeks and have only experienced one paper jam, which was easy to free.

Beim Auspacken fiel direkt auf, wie wunderbar kompakt dieser Scanner ist, wie hochwertig die Verarbeitung ist und wie stabil er ist.
Das hintere, aufklappbare Fach ist stabil, genau wie der vordere Auszug, der die gescannten Dokumente auffängt.
Hinzu kommt ein großes, sehr gut ablesbares Farbdisplay mit Touch-Bedienung.
Es gibt eine Schablone, die man in den Scanner einlegen kann und die dazu dient, bestimmte Formate zum scannen aufzunehmen, ohne das man die seitlichen Schieber nutzen muss, um das Dokument an den Seiten zu stabilisieren.

Die Einrichtung per WLAN in Verbindung mit der ScanSnap Software gestaltete sich absolut unkompliziert.
Die WLAN Verbindung war dabei jederzeit stabil und es gab keinerlei Abbrüche.
Die Software ist sehr umfangreich, trotzdem intuitiv bedienbar.
Außerdem ist die Software modern aufgebaut, übersichtlich und die Konfiguration des Scanners gestaltet konnte sehr gut durchgeführt werden.
Man kann verschiedene Profile anlegen, jedes Profile anders konfigurieren.
Ich habe z.B. eines für Dokumente, ein anderes für Fotos konfiguriert. Das ist hervorragend.

Das scannen der Dokumente ist einfach und die Qualität ist über jeden Zweifel erhaben.
Was mich aber besonders beeindruckt hat, das auch Fotos, also alte Fotos, die man möglicherweise bereits viele Jahre aufbewahrt hat, in einer außergewöhnlich guten Qualität eingescannt und somit digitalisiert werden können. Dabei kann man wählen, ob und was an diesen Fotos verbessert werden soll.
Zudem wird, wenn gewünscht, auch die Rückseite des Fotos gescannt, auf der ja oftmals Hinweise zu dem gemachten Foto vermerkt sind. Ist der Hintergrund des Bildes leer, wird der Hintergrund auch nicht gescannt.
Die Qualität dieser Fotos ist überraschend gut, aus meiner Sicht sogar hervorragend.

Gespeichert wird in einem zuvor festgelegten Ordner, Die gesicherten Unterlagen oder Fotos kann man automatisch benennen lassen.

Der ScanSnap iX1600 arbeitet dabei jederzeit einwandfrei, leise und recht schnell. Auch die Fotos werden schnell eingelesen, selbst dann, wenn man die höchste Qualitätsstufe gewählt hat.

In der Summe ein hervorragender Scanner, sehr vielseitig und unglaublich praktisch und sehr kompakt. Ich nutze ihn privat und bin rundherum begeistert.
Im direkten Vergleich mit einem Epson FF 680-W ist er in jeder Beziehung, auch in Bezug auf das scannen von vielen Bildern, deutlich überlegen und bietet eine eindeutig besser Qualität und eine sichere und jederzeit stabile WLAN Anbindung. Die überlegenere Software, ein sehr praktisches Display und vielfältige Konfigurationsmöglichkeiten.
