This is a nice little clock, and I emphasize "little". It is an ideal all-purpose bedroom clock that can be for travelling as well as domestic. Being battery-operated means no trailing electric cord. The dual-power function is the result of a battery backed-up by solar power. The clock-face can be unlit, brightly lit or gently lit so that it fits in with the room ambience wherever you are. This model has the alarm / snooze arrangement that is almost universal these days. The only reason for not giving this 5 stars is that I have seen several reviews that state that the clock's LCD display can be unreliable, and one of two we have did freak-out and the face became unreadable. I have ordered another and I hope that Acctim have sorted out that problem: if so, then they have a winner here.

These clocks have basic functionality, have a good battery life due to the solar charger feature, and also there's a "dim" background light setting that stays on all the time and enables you to see it in the dark without it being a distraction.

I’ve just ordered my second one of these clocks. According to my purchase history, I’ve had the first one for SEVEN years and it’s only just died on me! In that time I’ve only had to replace the batteries twice. This clock is perfect; it has a not-too-bright green light (I keep it on the low setting) so I can see the time at night, and a loud alarm to wake me up. It’s easy to use and has been totally reliable. As far as I’m concerned, it was a no-brainer to simply buy the same one again after all the years I got out of the last one. Definitely recommend.

I do like the adjustable brightness as I don't like a lot of light at night.
I've had it just over three months and now the display is faulty so will have to return it.
Not a patch on the actim smartlite that I had for years, although this is much cheaper. You get what you pay for I suppose... So pay more and get something better!!

This compact little clock is perfect for bedside or even travel use. The display is nice and clear, and you can alter the background lighting, from off to low or high. The digits are black, so when the lighting is off you won't see anything in the dark, though the press of the top button lights up the display in blue for a few seconds. I have the lighting set to low and even then it took a few nights to get used to the green glow. The seconds between the digits flash - doesn't bother me but I know it might put some off. Alarm loud enough to raise all but the soundest of sleepers. The clock is easy to use and set, and overall I'm very pleased with it.

Après un mois et demi de recul, quelques commentaires.
Cette pendulette est très agréable à utiliser ; voici pourquoi :
- Pas de fil à la patte
- Format réduit et poids de même
- Luminosité réglable en 3 crans : éteint, faible lueur, moyenne lueur, ceci pour l'éclairage permanent.
- Les touches "SNOOZE" provoquent l'allumage de l'écran pour 4 secondes en un bleu assez costaud pour les pupilles endormies.
- Chiffres assez gros quand on a de vieux yeux usés !
- Enfin la possibilité d'avoir un éclairage rétro (enfin, le contraire !) allumé toute la nuit sans éblouir. C'est ce qui avait motivé mon achat.
Eh bien ! c'est tout à fait réussi. Le niveau faible me suffit pour voir distinctement l'affichage. Au bout de 90 jours, les piles d'origine ne donnent pas signe de faiblesse. Il est vrai que je n'utilise l'alarme que très rarement. Tiens ! faudra que j'essaye avec des accus. Tous les appareils à piles ne s'en accommodent pas.
Je précise que ce réveil fonctionne dans un local sombre en permanence et que donc la cellule photovoltaïque n'a pas grand-chose à manger, ce qui montre encore que l'appareil n'est pas trop gourmand en piles.
Je juge cet appareil un peu cher par rapport à tel ou tel radio-réveil secteur à LEDs, plus complet et complexe à fabriquer, mais au vu des prestations de celui-ci, finalement, le prix est plutôt justifié.
S'il fallait une critique, je déplorerais l'absence de format 24h sur l'afficheur.

En conclusion :
Merci aux concepteurs de ce petit bijou !
