EnviroFold Timber Folding Loft Ladder

The EnviroFold is the contractor’s choice of loft ladder being both quick to install and a snug fit between standard UK joists. The thickly insulated trapdoor is finished in white and sprung counterbalanced for smooth operation. Suitable for ceiling heights up to 2.8m the innovative design takes up no space in the attic.

A continuous air seal, and extra-thick wooden frame combine with a 33mm thick trapdoor to achieve a tested U-value of 1.11 W / m²K. The deep anti-slip treads are dovetailed into the stiles using traditional methods for maximum comfort.

This quick installation kit comes complete with angled feet, a handrail for added security and an operating pole and hook. Precision manufactured in Europe’s Clean Tech Valley using renewable energy and PEFC sustainably sourced timber.

Designed to Fit UK Roofing Joists

The EnviroFold is 540mm wide, and is designed to fit UK roof joists. This makes it much easier to install and quicker too.

Bought as a replacement for a previous aluminium ladder that was a death-trap. This is much safer. If the controlling pole slips out of the ring, as happens from time to time, the hatch and attached ladder stay where they are. The previous one had a nasty habit of slamming down hard and dropping the ladder part straight down. In this one, once the hatch has been released and points straight down, you unfold the bottom two sections by hand.
The rungs are sturdy and the handrail both useful and necessary. My only criticism is that once you get to the rungs that are against the hatch (the last 5 in the illustration) you can't get your feet fully on, but by then you have the handrail for increased security.
Coupled with free delivery and a hefty discount using ��غ�� Prime this represents good value for money.

Excellent wooden stairs with a modular design that makes handling and fixing relatively easy. The handles are a design after-thought but are ok. The springs must be fitted last after everything else is complete and invest £2.49 in a spring puller - very easy.
Make sure that right angles are maintained during installation. I unscrewed the last flight of steps to cut to size - that made that job easy too.
Highly recommended.

I had reservations about this product having read previous reviews about the quality of the product. Those reservations were unfounded, the product is exceptional quality, if the hatch frame was softwood previously it is now high quality 28mm birch ply with steel angled corner braces bolted together. Altogether the quality is exceptional.
I fitted on my own, took a bit of working out but once I had figured out how to hold in place whilst fitting it was a cinch. Definitely built to last.
Would recommend without reservation, great product.

Arrived with a crack in the door and the box frame was snapped. The frame is VERY low quality, just cheap boards held together with staples. The frame was snapped where one of the staples was put it. Luckily, bolting it to the joist holds it together.

My advice, buy the parts separately from somewhere like B&Q or Homebase. It’ll cost roughly the same, maybe even less with the sales.

My advice, buy the parts separately from somewhere like B&Q or Homebase. It’ll cost roughly the same, maybe even less with the sales.

La scala è arrivata con una delle cerniere danneggiate, tanto che sarà necessaria la sostituzione. Il falegname si è già attivato per sistemarla, altrimenti significava dover rendere la scala e aspettare minimo una settimana prima di andare avanti con i lavori. E' evidente che le cerniere siano di pessima qualità, tutt'altro che solide. Sono stati utilizzati materiali veramente scadenti e non ne capisco il senso. Il produttore poteva fare di meglio inserendo delle cerniere di maggiore qualità per qualche euro in più. Per il resto devo ancora provarla. Imballaggio mediocre probabilmente possibile causa del danno subito. Aggiorno la mia precedente recensione. Scala pericolosa che tende a chiudersi se si resta fermi sugli ultimi gradini. Il gancio per tirare giù la scala è vergognoso. Tende a girare ed è difficile da centrare in quanto se si avvita fino a fissarlo la scala non si chiude e resta penzolante. Adesso non so cosa fare perchè vorrei restituirla, ma chiamare un falegname per smontare tutto mi costerebbe soldi. Chi paga?

L'encadrement n'est plus en bois mais en MDF de très mauvaise qualité. Les instructions de montage sont lamentables et relativement incompréhensibles. Les différentes vis incorporées au cadre ne permettent plus de l'encastrer facilement dans un encadrement, il faut prévoir un ajournement difficiles à réaliser. Bref, Je ne recommande plus du tout ! Oublier ce produit !
