Critical points

1. There is a slight build quality issue; see the image whereby the speaker shroud sits proudly on one corner and can't be pressed down. See the image for more details
2. When you charge the device, it gives you no status on the screen when you power down and plug in. This is a small win, and I wonder why this is not included.
3. When you select a station, it displays the station name for 10 seconds, then shows the time and scrolling text. Why can't it just display the station name permanently? It seems soon stupid to have two times displayed! See the image for more details.
4. If you press the scan button by mistake, you can't stop it or cancel and have to wait.
5. Having five preset buttons on the front would help so much; the current method is ok but inefficient.

Finally. On the critical points.

6. I purchased this as it was a British company, and I wanted to support it! Only to find out that it was designed in Britain but made in “The PRC” is so disappointing; I would have paid more if it was designed and made in the UK.

For the price you can't go wrong really but for £10 more, I would pay to fix the negatives and have it made in the UK, not everything has to be made in China!!!!!!!!!

I wanted a small pocket radio for use in the garden and doing the ironing but ever single brand of radio, of this sort, had negative as well as possitive reviews. I almost didn't buy this, because of negative reviews, and was going to go to Curry's instead. However, I took a chance and I'm pleased to say that I'm really happy with the radio. It's nice and compacted and feels well made. The aerial's a bit flimsy but should be fine if you look after it. The sound is okay, considering the size of the radio, and the built in speaker volume is acceptable.
The instructions are in English and not Ingrish making it plain to understand. That's about it really. It does what it's supposed to do.

Locating radio stations is easy from the the instructions booklet and it does provide good, "get you started" features. the sound quality is also satisfactory, with a good clear screen. Bad points... the problems is the DAB radio keeps loosing reception and its to frustrating to keep finding a spot to get the signal back to last, To able Pre-sets is an assortment of short and long presses to access and then to store your favourite channels , If using late at night it is Just to difficult to find and access your stored channels with all the short and long presses, its probably a good product if your familiar with DAB radio's but the combination to set up and keep trying to find your pre-sets its to difficult.

this DAB player is a good product and is well finished. It comes with a useful aerial (antenna) and built in speaker. The instructions are in English and provide good, "get you started" features.
The sound quality through a decent pair of earphones is really good and is very satisfying.
Given the price point this product is exceptional value for money.
The battery life appears to be quite good because of the generous size battery.

Bad points:
The menu system is not good in my opinion. It is clunky and far from intuitive.
DO not use ear buds fitted with microphones. This type of phone has got four poles on the jackplug i.e. a tip and three collars to accommodate the microphone function. They do not work correctly with this DAB player. Use the three pole ear bud and the sound quality is good. (see attached photos)
When charging the unit with the power mode switched off it does not display when the DAB player is fully charged. If you leave the power ON the charge status is displayed. Not clear in the instructions.
Note: the unit charges in the power off mode if it is connected to USB power source.
The Antenna is extremely delicate on the first element when pulled out.
The unit is not very sensitive in DAB and is quite fussy about cable placement when using headphones. To be fair this could be due to the coverage where I live. It is helped somewhat by easing the antenna out slightly.
All in all for the price this is a credible product and if you are willing to put up with some of the idiosyncrasies then it is a good buy, particularly the sound quality.
