It disperses the pressure evenly across the back of your head relieving some of the pressure both from the back of the head and face. Easy to install, fits well and priced well. There is still some pressure on the face whilst using it however that could be due to the fact that the stock strap it fits to is elasticated. Good product overall.

Adjustable ones start around the £29 mark but the difference is, they are adjustable! By charging over 1/2 the price for this seems a bit greedy and that's the only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars. £12 would have got it 4 stars and less than £10 would have given it full marks since there's not much that can go wrong with it.

I'm 63 and haven't used VR headset since the original Oculus with Samsung mounted phone. Meta 2 was finally on sale, so I took the leap. The set is very heavy for someone my age - so I decided to give a back strap apparatus a try. WOW! I wear this lower on my skull, tighten the side straps very lightly, adjust the top velcro, pull the side arms up just a little so the Meta isn't resting on my face, and this attachment does the trick! The Meta is 4 star balanced on my face, no longer pulling under my eyes and forehead. Takes some adjusting but find the sweet spot and this addition is definitely worth the low price. Soft, pliable, comfy. (Ordered white, b/c I wanted it to match the straps.)

tl;dr (don't you hate having to wade through the story to get to the recipe?)

Buy one now. The difference it makes in comfort, stability, and usability with the stock strap is really difficult to convey.

The story:

So I managed to keep myself from diving into a replacement head strap right away. I eventually settled on the new VR Balance V2 based on the idea of weight instead of grip doing the job, and the way it works with the stock strap. Since it was not not going to be immediately available, I settled on using a 3D printed head "pad" while passing the "kickstarter slack time". During this 'kst', I ran across a video of UTR quest-cessories (I'm'a call trademark on that stupid looking term right there...) that led me to the NIVRANA (note the spelling...) battery pack, and thence to a review video of the AMVR Head Pad. This excited me. The vlogger's initial skepticism followed by his very enthusiastic endorsement had me throwing my money at AMVR in moments. Though I had gotten my DIY print done in PLA, it was purely a decision of availability and expediency. I wanted to have a stock strap enhancement in hand when the my OQ2 arrived until I decided on a replacement. I had always felt it would have benefitted from being done in TPU, but that option was not available to me in the timeframe I required.

Imagine if you will, what it would be like to slip into a pair of supple driving gloves after taking off the rawhide work gloves you've been wearing all day. The person that graciously printed the cap for me suggested adding some thin padding to the inner surface, and I really should have listened. I did not realize how uncomfortable it actually was (though still better, for me, than just the stock strap) until I swapped it out for the AMVR solution.

To begin with, it is significantly larger, and that, coupled with the flexibility results in a more comfortable wrap-around experience. The strap ends up resting higher on the back of the head, but the greater "reach" of the AMVR pad compensates for it nicely. This higher position also brings the strap "arms" up a little further above the ears for those sensitive to that sort of thing, and I swear to dog, that due to the way that has altered the "hang" of the headset, my glasses sit just differently enough that things seem sharper. <--- this is entirely anecdotal and I don't care if it doesn't make any sense, I'm leaning into it.

If the NIVRANA battery pack works as well with the AMVR head pad is it seems it will, combined with the VRCover facial interface, I can foresee the potential for some truly epic time spent "inside". I think I've laid my strap replacement woes to rest. I'm pretty pumped.

Let me start off by saying I bought the official Oculus Elite Strap in Feb 2021, after the product was pulled so it could be "fixed". Well within 2 weeks of fairly light use it started to crack... needless to say I returned it and went back to the original strap looking for something better...

Well this takes the original strap to a whole new level! The TPU is soft and flexible but not overly so. It mounts easily enough to the original Quest 2 strap but it does a fantastic job of making it much more comfortable and distributing the weight of the headset.

I am using the improved facial padding from another VR company and this TPU pad mounted on the original Quest 2 strap and the comfort is amazing. The elastic straps make the whole headset really easy to take on/off and as a glasses wearer I find this to be a huge improvement over the elite strap in terms of ease of use or just the base strap in terms of comfort. As a bonus it fits in an aftermarket Quest 2 case with ease since its so flexible.

For $20 this made my Oculus Quest 2 a much better experience and was worth the buy.
